Re: What factors led to the Ultima's win at the '87 Worlds?

I raced at Romsey 6 months after the worlds, the two main issues were grip, there is none unless you had the kyosho blocks W-5031. Not an issue at the worlds all the top drivers had them. The second issue was the bumps, the track was very rough. To the contrary of what Joel Johnson has said in an in...

Re: Early Edinger rebuild

Gotta love the early Edinger, it symbolises the beginning.
It would be really cool to see all the fine details like drive gear pivot and shock internals. :D

Re: Is This A Novak 1?

Look at the brake FET: the one hiding behind the wires. If it is a BUZ11 it is a Novak 1, if it is something else BUZ71 or BUZ10 it's a Novak 4. :D

Re: Associated's '89 Stealth car (RC10GX)

I saw this back in 2021. All I had time to do was take a screenshot before someone snapped it up!!!! it was like 80 something EURO plus shipping. What a steal!!! IMG_3908.PNG What we don't always realise is that stuff get sold on ebay as "buy now" and vanishes in seconds, and nobody...

Good job pedro!
Those bottom load shocks and caps look amazing... do tell, how you did it. Those front tyres look perfect too! what are they? What servo did you use?

Re: GP3D 1989 Worlds Stealth Car Replica

I'm not hurting for 94737's. The one on the right needs a new harness though. Unfortunately, the cars they're going in really should have the 94151. But it is what it is. Those are very nice servos super fast 0.12' 60deg ok not as fast as 94151 0.08' 60deg but faster than 131SH at 0.16' 60deg...

Re: Esc recommendations

I have not raced since 2017 and I use LRP flow, but undoubtedly Hobbywing are the market leader, I did briefly have a HW xerun 120A which is available cheap but for a stock class Mikea96 suggestion is solid especially if you intend to race in blinky class. :D

Re: GP3D 1989 Worlds Stealth Car Replica

Something will come along, it always does. Just gotta be in the position to get it when it does.
I would have thought that most US drivers would have been running those super FAST Airtronics servos (94151 ,94737) shame that they are as rare as hens teeth.

Re: Reedy Modifieds - which one would be your favorite?

The geographical issue has to be taken into account also. Different countries Different rules. The UK was using standard motors until the 1987 season this meant factory sealed motors with bushings (any wind) this was the hay day of the demon MR-T special 2x22. Starting in 1987 standard class went to...

Re: GP3D 1989 Worlds Stealth Car Replica

The 131S was replaced by the 131SH in 1986 and was made obsolete in in 1987 with the release of the S148 which is a budget servo with very similar specs. THE 131sh had a long life even being re-badged as the 9401. The 131S and the 131SH are identical on the exterior, well except for the sticker. :wi...

I can't wait to see what you come up with Jason. :D
Really want to see if you can get the bottom load shocks and caps anodized nicely, If I recall in the past you nailed them on a cliff Lett replica!
A non Masami replica will certainly be different and way cool!

Re: Original 6560 kit drill bit size and template

All, I agree with all the suggestions on drill size but what I’m really after is the “exact size” that was included in the kit. I sure there may be someone that has this kit and contents to confirm???. Thanks The exact size is 7/64 (0.111" or 2.81mm) I just measured my original, but I'm pretty...
