What did you end up trying? In the same boat with some rather green bellcranks and ballcups...
I wound up installing them. Once installed, the greeness isn't as noticeable.

Re: Yes, I'm actually going to fix this junker up

It surprised me. I had put my bid at 34 dollars and figured there was no way I'd get the car for that. When it went for 21 I was pleased. https://photos.smugmug.com/RC10-Cadillac-Rebuild/i-QX5zjDG/0/L/IMG_3420-L.png In the end I didn't get too many usable parts from the car, but what I needed was th...

Re: Yes, I'm actually going to fix this junker up

Thank you Lonestar. I'm purposefully keeping this one scrappy but trying to use very good parts on it. There will be a lot of titanium hardware and the hinge pins and turnbuckles are Lunsford. All bearings are fresh and high quality. So it will look kind of beat up, but when someone looks close they...

Re: Yes, I'm actually going to fix this junker up

Still making progress but waiting for parts is the main holdup as I'm sure y'all are used to. I did take a set of 4.1 RTR shocks and strip the blue anodizing off. https://photos.smugmug.com/RC10-Cadillac-Rebuild/i-rMSX3vH/1/XL/IMG_3417-XL.jpg And I bought this horrible parts car for 21 bucks. https:...

Re: RC10 Worlds Kits all gone?

There is a shop on eBay that still sells them. You just have to part with 292 dollars to get one.

Today was a big mail day for me. First, an envelope full of bueno from gomachV. Shock towers for B4 shocks. https://photos.smugmug.com/RC10-Cadillac-Rebuild/i-NHr7xpt/0/XL/IMG_3402-XL.jpg Shapeways steering bellcranks from Nix https://photos.smugmug.com/RC10-Cadillac-Rebuild/i-CNK8pwb/0/XL/IMG_3401-...

My wish lists at Tower and Amain are long when they finally do restock.

Re: Current options for white ball cups

I'm not naive by any means. I know that profit is the bottom line of every move a company makes. But, like the classic kit thing, I don't understand the details. It is my impression that the originals were made in California and the re-re Classics were made in China. So either the original tooling g...

I'm guessing you don't have an air compressor in your arsenal ? Ten seconds with an air nozzle does wonders.

Re: Yes, I'm actually going to fix this junker up

The project has kind of changed directions. I just wasn't feeling the carbon and gold theme. Then I found an eBay chop shop that had a big sale going on last weekend. So, one project has evolved into two projects. I've got some goodies coming from gomachV for the gold one now to change directions in...

Re: Current options for white ball cups

I appreciate the help from everyone. Having moved from Tamiya stuff and into AE I'm having to learn a lot. It seems like I need to put together a little cheat sheet to remember these things like the Kyosho and J Concepts (purchased) options. Now, someone please explain to me why the current RPM arms...

Re: Current options for white ball cups

I recently did a full restoration on my B4.1 FT car (weird I know) and i used the current low friction AE cups. They are about the nicest cups I've ever used. Of course, they aren't white. I was really hoping to find some option for a high quality cup like that in white color that isn't built to ove...

Current options for white ball cups

What current options do I have for white ball cups ? -I have the RPM set, and while I like RPM products and the company in general, the cups are pretty chunky and overkill for the kind of light running I do with my semi-shelfer type of builds. -I ordered a set of modern white AE cups from some ebay ...

Re: Looking for a (sane) brushless setup recommendation

I have bought a couple of Reedy 3300 kv motor and speed speed control sets for 60-70 dollars from the chop shops on eBay that part out new RTR vehicles. If you watch them closely for sales you can really find the stuff cheap. You won't hear many people brag about RTR stuff, but for a vehicle that I ...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's

Look at the vise deal like this. The object here is to get it and heat quick and get out. The vice aggravates that because it tends to pull heat away from the bullet. If your iron is hot enough to compensate for that you'll get good results. The point is, if you were to take something like a paint s...
