Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

It has taken a while but, apart from fixing receiver and ESC in place, it is now finished :D https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/asLlo-N6WjWMBPxQsSdomZcqn0_6g7Medlec4bF86j5F0cRtLUN0x8G6qOwO1KE9cKut1oDKDMV5zYm0Xo05PTgdhOjFXAVAXzCzPPmwGk7W8EhmzP1Dyc0p1XdULp7xmVG3xrXA3A=s0 https://lh3.googleusercontent.c...

Thanks for that. Confirms what I thought and what has been said earlier.

Looks like the wing tube holes are 6 or 7mm, with the rear post hole being around 8mm?

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

What are the best sizes to drill for the various holes?

Re: Team Car body hole locations

Just beware that the front one will likely need a bit of adjustment forward from the mark due to the angled post. this... I'll take a pic of a well-positioned Viper in a short while :) Watchout as the repop bodies sometimes are of a slightly different size... your best bet is to "ovalize"...

Re: Team Car body hole locations

It's a reproduction Viper body that I've got. It is already painted as the car wasn't assembled enough to test fit and mark holes at the time I sent it to my friend to paint. I'm ok with methods for marking where the holes should go. I was more interested in seeing where the wing tube holes should b...

Team Car body hole locations

Guys I've come to the point where I need to fit the new body to my Team Car rebuild. Can anybody post some pictures of where the holes should be located? Specifically the rear wing tube holes. I suspect that the original body, which came with the car, has the holes in the wrong place. The rear of th...

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

Thing about ball diff's you have to use silicon grease on the main balls. Nothing else works! As far as the thrust balls the stock grease is molybdenum but silicon will work also. The six gear RC10 was originally built with silicon grease in thrust position, Schumacher cat also and all 1/12th pan c...

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

I've rebuilt the diff. Used proper AE Stealth Diff Lube this time. I haven't been able to test it properly yet as I borrowed the motor sensor cable for another build. But the action feels much better. New sensor cable is on the way. Also ordered a new wing mount. stealth lube on main balls, graphit...

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

Fantastic Peter. Can you post some pics? Pics will be coming, but I want to get the body mounted up first. A friend of mine put a lot of effort into the body for me, so I want to get it fitted so I can show it as a whole. Soon as I've done that, I'll post some pics and list out the changes/tweaks I...

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way

It lives!! After having issues with one of the shiny, blue, front axles being out of spec. And (losing) a battle with a stripped grub screw. I've finally received and fitted a replacement. Now I've been able to mount the wheels, test fit some electrics and see if it moves. So far it's only done a li...

Re: Driver for set screws in #6801 front axle conversion kit

Well the JB Weld didn't work.

Whatever is holding that screw in certainly has a grip on it.

I'll have to continue with alternative parts and revisit this screw at a later date when I have the equipment to try drilling it out.

Re: Driver for set screws in #6801 front axle conversion kit

Maybe I'll keep my eye out for some of those drivers in the UK.

Probably start with the small sizes and work up.

Re: Driver for set screws in #6801 front axle conversion kit

If your trying to use a L shaped Allen, but a quality set first. Chances are the wrench is more stripped than the head of the screw. You will continue to have issue if your using the cheap stuff. I have a reasonable quality driver set, not top quality but we'll above the cheap stuff. I've tried get...

Re: Driver for set screws in #6801 front axle conversion kit

Glue didn't work and I don't have the necessary parts to mount a small enough drill bit in my Dremel.

I do have some spare steering knuckles and hub carriers. Just ordered some spare king pins. So worst case I can rebuild with new parts.
