Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

RC10 with oval conversion. Is that a McAllister front end? It also has a bunch of Andy's parts. Just wondering if it was a kit or just a bunch of parts put on. Thanks. Definitely a Mcallister lowering kit, which would do both ends of the car. Pretty typical to have all the Andy's parts (bumpers/bod...

Re: Rarest of the RARE

CSC axles are not that rare. A guy I race with has a big lot of them from dude who made them originally.

Re: So why did the RC10 lose at the IFMAR 1987 again?

It's pretty simple, Associated was still using a lot of the original RC10. No Stealth trans, 6 gear... Look at the short arm cars in this picture with the Kondo and Moore cars from RCMC UK's coverage: 1987-11 RCMC UK Moore Nr1 and Kondo Nr 5.JPG The Ultima was a fairly new car with longer arms, prob...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy

Ok I might actually be done now... The original steering setup I made had pretty extreme bump steer. Just moving the suspension up and down it went toe in to toe out easy to see with the naked eye. I know some of the aftermarket Hot Shot chassis used a single RC10 bellcrank to smooth out the steerin...

Rc10ds front bulkhead - arm mount width

Can anyone tell me the width of the front bulkhead where the inner hinge pin passes through? I trying to figure out if standard off road rc10 front arms would mount to this bulkhead. Thanks

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy

Body and wing time........ I had an original Assault body that really looks better than the body I was going to use. I bent the wing up with some sheet aluminum. Good times!

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy

Well, after much consternation, I got this car running. The Tf2 universals worked out, and didn't require any trimming of the replacement diff shafts. I bought some Frog wheel adapters and used them to mount the tires on the rims as mounted. Only one problem, the axles were too short with the very w...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy

Still waiting for the universals, but I did get a set of tires from ebay. This dude had what looked like 4 proline champion tires on bolink rims. They were cheap (shocker!). The tires arrived, and if they are not prolines, they are almost perfect copies. No sidewall lettering though. The rims have a...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy

Well, Scorpion universals are not the best thing for the front....and I cut too much off the outputs on the front diff for the CVDs I had fit up before, so I have to build another diff. Luckily, I had an extra for parts. Also, the Scorpion universals are 6mm out to the hex pin hole, so it messes up ...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy

I got a bunch of driveshaft stuff in the mail. Xtraspeed makes Scorpion universals, among other stuff, so I'm going to start seeing what I can do with the parts. I think the rear shocks need about 4-5mm in limiters to keep the bones from flying out. If I can get it together, I might be able to make ...
