Re: TQ10 resto

A little more progress today. A trusty S148 servo mounted and also the antenna holder. A TBG body is also now on order.

Mine isn't an exact original, more original themed car.
Very nice!

Re: TQ10 resto

Scored a clean stock motor on Ebay. 20240302_102038.jpg Shame that the label is not visible once installed, but looks more at home than a Trinity motor. 20240302_102614.jpg 20240302_100200.jpg Protection installed. 20240302_103242.jpg And for the first repro part on the project. Re: TQ10 resto

Thanks! Dang pleased with it so far and have stuck to my plan to restore it without any re-re parts.

The rear hole patch is not perfect, but it is presentable.

Re: TQ10 resto

Thanks! I decided to forego painting, but did apply a low gloss clearcoat I have on hand for HO slot car bodies to clean up some sanding scratches. It turned out pretty decent . Fairly glossy when wet. 20240222_192243.jpg But loses some gloss as it dries. 20240223_165016.jpg 20240223_164945.jpg Time...

Re: Pro-Line 3020 Series Bodies

I did some digging when I first got it, but did not find anything. I agree, it has a familiar appearance.

The undoing will just be a sticker swap.

Would love to find one of the chevy sportside bodies.

This is a Jeep Commanche that came in Ebay lot years ago. I've been planning on "converting" it from an Optima to a Jrxt at some point.

I used Autographics #103. They look "right" to me.

Re: TQ10 resto

Started sanding on the epoxy and it is looking better. Re: show off your autographed RC car or buggy

Several years ago, Gary Kyes' son Ken(?) was selling Jrx2 and Pro bodies on ebay and offered to coordinate having Gary paint them and the Losis sign them along with a certificate. While I didn't get to be there in person for the autographs, I'm still honored to have them on my shelf 8) 20210620_1736...
