Re: OPTIMA MID '87 WC Worlds Spec Ltd Ed.

How exactly does the dual slipper sheet change the settings? This doesn't really tell me if adding that optional slipper sheet will reinforce the reinforced slipper clutch, or if it's what you buy if you're going to stick with a brushed motor. I'm probably going to stick my old 240ST in there &...

Re: Things that irritate you

The next logical step is to make every new electronic device inoperable UNLESS it is connected to the "internet". Don't ask users of the SmarTap shower control about this. Someone thought having a shower you could control remotely from a phone app or by voice using an Alexa, so you could ...

Not one run, a normal production item. Over here we are already getting a second batch of cars. Still no clear spares though.

Re: Started something else today...

This is a bit simpler than your last project  I think every vintage 1/12th collector must have one of these by now. I think Massimo must have found a shed full of them at Mantua Models, the number of these I have seen for sale over the years. There are two options for folding polycarbonate, col...

Good to know, a lot of these pieces of RC history end up being sold off or thrown away. Of course there's plenty of us who would volunteer if she ever wants them restoring.

Re: OPTIMA MID '87 WC Worlds Spec Ltd Ed.

Kyosho do give you both a brushed and brushless recommendation though. The brushed motor recommendation is to suggest you buy Kyoshos own brand brushed motor rather than a standard one from elsewhere. It's only a 30 turn brushed motor, because that's what Kyosho made to sell as a motor to go in the ...

Re: Demon MF-1 / MF-83 1/12th Car

https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=170661 Most of those parts aren't old chassis, the markings show they are the original templates used to cut and drill the chassis parts. I'm in the same position, I have front and rear end parts somewhere but spares never come up for sale anywhere. If ...

Re: Best chemicals / methods for stripping paint from old bodies.

I use 30% nitro fuel, Carson Paint Killer and Tamiya Body Cleaner depending on what shifts the paint. Especially with vintage bodies I wouldn't put brake fluid anywhere near them as it can make the bodies very brittle. I think it was an original Losi truck body I cleaned with brake fluid as a test a...

Re: Optima mid turbo - convert to Javelin

For the rereleases it's easy, depending on how accurate you want the conversion. You need the OT247 cage set and OT252 wing in the colour of your choice, and the OT251 roll bar, OT250 wing mount. The driver figure is the same as the Turbo. Obviously there are different shocks, wheels and tyres but t...

If you like scale stuff Emotional Rc and Hoon's RC both do amazing videos https://www.youtube.com/@EmotionalRc/videos I follow PopalongRC as they are quite entertaining rc club racers mainly covering modern racing but they do some vintage as well. https://www.youtube.com/@PopalongRC/videos My Graupn...

Re: Restoration of Joel Johnsons 1987 WC Ultima

I really like these and I noticed they just did a re-release. My concern is will there be spares for repair or do they just intend for them to sit on display. I can't help but want a Dirtmaster as well. You'll find most people buying the JJ are buying them to race, as it's nearer a race tuned versi...

That's really impressive work.

Prp did a replica of the world's prototype, so you can see what the new chassis plate looks like. It looks like he started with the exact body you have

Re: Graupner/Mugen Mercury CAD model...

That's looking really good. If you do get some bodies off it I would be interested in one as I want to keep racing mine.

The bigger body does look like the prototype body, the prototype had a flat alloy plate to mount the electrics instead of the plastic covers and needed the extra sides to cover it.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

A Tech Racing Voggerd T10. Something I've wanted since I saw a review of it in RCCA in the 90s, just because it's so different to any touring car around at the time. I started searching for one when I started seriously collecting vintage cars and have never had any luck as they made it out of Japan ...
