Re: aeiou's Ten4

Thanks, Mark. I appreciate the tip on the LP shorty batteries. I have about 23mm to work with, so they just might do the trick.

Re: Scr8p's Worlds Rere #6 / Modern Pavidis Replica - '95 Reedy International

Great work as usual. Lots of cool mods on this one. I hadn't noticed the detail on the nose and wing tubes before.

Re: aeiou's Ten4

The roller: IMG_5967.JPG IMG_5968.JPG IMG_5969.JPG IMG_5970.JPG My battery plan has changed as the shorty battery I was going to use just isn't going to fit. The height is a tad too tall, but the bigger issue is the connector that falls directly under the belt. There's just no way to get one under t...

Re: aeiou's Ten4

Thanks, RR! I've made a bit more progress over the past month or so and this build is finally (mostly) in roller form. I decided to mount the steering directly to the chassis and go with the black ReRe Worlds nose plate. Once I had it on there, I liked the black versus the stripped alloy look I was ...

Re: MRC Thunder King

2 old stock motors and a mechanical speed control will drain most any battery pretty quickly. Moving to an ESC would be your best bet and I probably wouldn't run a LiPo with the mechanical speed control. The ESC jwscab mentioned would be a great choice as you can run either a single or dual motors. ...

Re: aeiou's Ten4

Thanks! The A&L steering was what I'd planned to use originally. I had Jeff make me an undrilled CF cross link for it as I was going to modify things a bit. But I figured that I'd go ahead and give the ten4 kit cranks a shot. They should work just fine. I just didn't want the steering links up t...

Re: aeiou's Ten4

But I quickly noticed that there was way too much flex in the front of the chassis / nose plate to maintain any sort of reliable belt tension. I figured I give brace tubes a shot. IMG_5777.JPG IMG_5778.JPG IMG_5779.JPG IMG_5780.JPG There's a bit more tweaking needed to get the tubes fitting the way ...

Re: aeiou's Ten4

Thanks! I've been working on this one a little bit here and there over the past couple months. Time to catch up on updates.

I began mocking things up after the previous post and I liked how it was starting to shape up.

Once all of these parts were settled into place, I started the motor guard mod. Re: aeiou's Ten4

I finally had some time today to make a little more progress. I’ve started the final fab and build up before I dye the plastics, strip anno, etc. I worked on the chubs for a while and got them working smoothly. This is my first time working with the Dremel on 3D printed parts. It's an odd material t...
