Re: Do old radios and receivers hold any value to anyone?

I use both old and new. Kind a pain to keep up with crystals and what not. But I prefer the older heavyweight radios that use 8 batteries instead of 4.

Re: Pan car

My guess is that with those big tires, you are overgeared. If you put regular sized foams on there you may fare better heat-wise or just gear down a bit.

Re: Tamiya discontinued items?

I was hoping that someone with some industry knowledge would post something informative. Instead, we got off on a discussion about shocks and bodies.

Re: Tamiya discontinued items?

I am amazed that even crappy RC10s are going for over $200. My question is will Tamiya and Kyosho be restocked or will they be discontinued? There doesn’t seem to be any information available about anything.

Re: Tamiya discontinued items?

No, I got that when it happened. What I’m talking about is a bit more recent and drastic and I think it’s due to supply constraints and difficulty in shipping. Getting stuff out of Japan used to cost less than $60 to $80! Maybe some of those container ships are holding massive Tamiya and Kyosho boxes.

Tamiya discontinued items?

I have to confess to not paying a whole lot of attention to Tamiya or Kyosho in the past year, but is it me or have Tamiya prices gone through the roof? I pulled out an M-05 Mine Cooper kit that I have been meaning to build for a while and thought about getting a second body for it. I was stunned at...

Airtronics servo repair?

I have a couple of 94145 servos I need to have repaired. Does anyone know where I might find someone who can take a look at them?

Re: Lipo Conversion question (probably stupid but I need to ask)

Did some looking for 1S esc and found a few. Unfortunately, they’re either $179 or less expensive ones are out of stock everywhere. I found voltage boosters aplenty so I am trying one of those. I am hoping this will solve the issues.

Re: Lipo Conversion question (probably stupid but I need to ask)

Thanks everyone. This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I am not stoked about having to buy a new esc but at least I know know what to do.

My question also. Did you bite the bullet and order from Japan?

Re: Lipo Conversion question (probably stupid but I need to ask)

Yes, this is likely true but the Nimh pack was 6 cells and I have several packs (2 of which are less than a year old that I use for my son’s cars). Using one of those did not change the equation. I have a 12r5.2 that I am getting ready. This one will use all new electronics (though still not brushle...

Lipo Conversion question (probably stupid but I need to ask)

I have a couple of older Associated 1/12 scale cars (raced long ago) that I use to do speed runs up and down my street. My Nimh packs have just gotten to the point of exhaustion from age and non-use. I got a couple of 1S Lipo batteries that I use in a my 4wd car (pretty new batteries). They are well...

Re: Servo Spec Question

Airtronics servos are still as sharp as ever. Getting hard to find parts for them though. Airtronics 94145 is still the best 1/12 scale servo I have ever used.
