Re: Top CAT rocker geometry

Can't answer your question directly but did see a video on youtube with two guys who competitively run Topcats in Vintage and other races and they discussed how these made by Bezerk address the issue of Topcat geometry causing the front to get softer as it compresses. https://bezerk.com.au/topcat-fr...

Well, a lot has changed in 3.5 years. To say the least. :D But that armature lives on with someone else at this point, long since gone to the ebay grave yard.

He used it in a different dimension where he dominated the racing field for the next decade. Masami also ran his 89 and 91 "RC10" there.

Re: So why did the RC10 lose at the IFMAR 1987 again?

AE always seems like Porsche to me at IFMAR at least. They flood the grid. I don't know about today but in a lot of old racing series of 80's and 90's, 25 say of the 30 cars on the grid were a Porsche, odds are they would podium at least then. Bit simplified but just my anecdotal observation. Take t...

Re: First Track?

Small town Lake Zurich, IL. It was the towns original post office, long since closed for a bigger facility that was a track and hobby shop, no idea on the name. 1st car on track ever was there with a Turbo Optima Mid Se. All these years, tracks and whatever later, that first day ever on a track I re...

Re: LRM A-3006 Diff Center Gear Differences?

I'd like to start an "official" conspiracy theory on this. Needs to be a vintage one rooted in 1990 give or take.

Re: RCCA carbon chassis RC10 build

Cool to have an OG RCCA writer on board. Great piece of history there. A sympathetic restore and race it at Vonats seems like logical conclusion for it.

We all know the JrX2 was the pinnacle of RC design and this makes it official to improve on the RC10 with X2 genes. :D

Re: LRM A-3006 Diff Center Gear Differences?

I don't know. That's the fascinating part. I started tearing apart vintage Jrx's around 2008 and probably had 100 or so and countless diffs, transmissions etc. and never came across this. I could see this as creating less friction and also allowing a nice pocket for grease. The plastic is a bit hard...

Re: LRM A-3006 Diff Center Gear Differences?

Yes, right out of packages, factory sealed, same era label. Bought recently from a seller on EBAY, I purchased two, this is how they came so new to me. Just noticed, another one here, different seller than mine. Maybe these appeared recently from some old stash. I've had countless LRM diffs at this ...

Re: LRM A-3006 Diff Center Gear Differences?

Look at the big center holes. One is a triangle here, one is the round one I have only ever seen. Both of these were recently opened NIP items.

LRM A-3006 Diff Center Gear Differences?

A3006.jpg
Never seen this before and have had a lots of them. Triangle center? I could see how it would create less friction yet still support at this common area for melting?
