Re: Super detailed scale Scorcher, Just finished

Very true, I can barely bring myself to test run the chassis, let alone run it with that body on it...lol Beautiful scale detail fabrication there, you're a stickler for details (as only true scale modellers can be). I agree that the devil's in the details, but you guys take it to a whole new level....

Re: Super detailed scale Scorcher, Just finished

See post below for the SBG forum. The shock collars are from a set of the RC4wd shocks if I remember right, I agree, I wasn't too impressed with those shocks..leaked like crazy. I have been getting tons of questions about the sunroof setup, At this point, I don't think I can get a good shot of how i...

Re: Super detailed scale Scorcher, Just finished

The shocks are modified stock units, I added the coils. The whole build is on the SBG forum, I will post a few here, there are lots.. enjoy. http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr237/bjvitale/jeffs%20RC/f3cd0b97-c968-490b-aee0-f5665a0be714_zps50736f3c.jpg http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr237/bjvi...

Re: Super detailed scale Scorcher, Just finished

You've done a lot of nice work to that body. I like the detailing on the engine. However I highly doubt you'll get the $2100 you're asking for it on eBay Thanks, I may not get full price, that's why I added the "make offer" option... selling it to raise money for speech therapy for my 11 ...

Super detailed scale Scorcher, Just finished

Super Scale Detailed Tamiya Sand Scorcher This is the product of around a year of work, car turned out awesome. it is a mix of vintage with some new parts thrown in, as it stands, the shocks, the fiberglass chassis plate, tires, aluminum wheel inserts, front cross tubes, steering mechanism, and the ...

Re: Anyone have a Tamiya King Cab?

I have several of these, i raced one back in 1990, actually won a trophy with it. love those trucks. here is a pic of one of my latest builds using the blue groove body. BG body is ok, but as others have said, its not detailed enough, but it is much stronger than the originals. http://i487.photobuck...

Frog Ball Diff?? is this a Thorp??

I recently aquired a really rough original frog, I immediately began rebuilding it, opened up the tranny, and found a ball diff/slipper clutch in it. i knew these were not stock back in the 80's that i remember. Is this a Thorp? or is this a Tamiya hop up piece. Please help! http://i487.photobucket....

Re: Tamiya releases for 2012 - it's like a miracle.

Exactly what he said... I would still rather have vintage Rc than anything.. I don't mind if the "collector market" is destroyed. You mention that these went from being a vintage collectible to being just a toy car. Well, let us not forget that in the 80s all these were just just to...

Re: Tamiya releases for 2012 - it's like a miracle.

I would have to agree wth Coelancath in part, I have since 1979 wanted a Sand Scorcher, and even though I can pick up a re-re, I have little desire to do so because it is not a vintage Scorcher, I just spent the last few months buying vintage parts and peices to build my Scorcher, and I value it mor...

Parts ID...what are these??

I recently aquired a set of 2.2 buggy rear wheels, they fit vintage Rc10 rear perfectly, so I assume they were made specific for the RC10? I would like to use them, they are NIP, but no inventory/mfg card, so I have no idea who made them, they are a bit unusual, they have a clear "dish" th...

Re: Blackfoot 3

I have contacted Tamiya USA, they currently list the body as "unavailable". I was told it is because the kit is so new. They told me to check back on January for availability status of the body. I dont know about everyone else, but I'm in for at least 2 or 3 of the bodies when they release...
