Re: Novak T4 ESC Terminals?

Hi, I also have one of those late run T4's. It also has the solder pop fuse that later models had. It came as a 3 wire, with the second red coming back out of the Tamiya plug. This one was butchered and needs new power wires, not going to rewire until use is found for it. Enclosed some pic as well. ...

Re: HELP ! LRP SPX8 Esc, will not reverse rotation

I have had the LRP sx8 since shortly after buying the MBX6 Tekno conversion buggy. I got the LRP because of the LRP reputation, I use LRP X12's in my Losi 22 and my 12th Corally and they work flawlessly. It was just dumb luck that the esc and the Mugen worked together. I had no previous experiences ...

Re: HELP ! LRP SPX8 Esc, will not reverse rotation

This is an LRP SX8 1/8th scale sensored speed control. It will not function non sensored. Sent emails to LRP and North American distributers to no avail. This is only one generation old and is not reversible. I have no choice but to buy another manufacturers speed control. LRP will not help. Boo LRP...

Re: HELP ! LRP SPX8 Esc, will not reverse rotation

Just got a reply from LRP. The SPX8 speed control is only meant to turn counter clockwise looking at the gear end. One cannot reverse the rotation of the motor period. Not the answer I was looking for. Too bad so sad, new esc coming up...

HELP ! LRP SPX8 Esc, will not reverse rotation

Hi, I have an 8th scale LRP SPX8 that I used in a Mugen MBX6 Techno conversion that worked great. Now have a Team C T8E that I am trying to install all of my electronics in but cannot get the esc to reverse rotation. It does not matter which direction I set the throttle, normal or reverse, the motor...

Re: Steering servo recommendations

Hi I remember using a couple of Futaba S-132's when we first got our RC10's. They were faster, .13 seconds but really not enough torque to race offroad. We burned a few out also. The size is smaller and will work on an outdoor offroad track for demo purposes easily. We even put bearings in the drive...

Re: Need help - hot brushd motor

The 24 means 24 degrees advanced. This may be a longshot but if you have the motor hooked up wrong polarity wise the motor will surely heat up. If the armature is difficult to turn by hand this says that either the bearings are not aligned or there is something rubbing that is hampering the rotation...

Re: Tekin RS Pro on 1s

Thanks again everyone for your help. I think after reading 200-300 posts on 1s powered RS Pro, I am finally getting the idea. Use the booster to power the entire receiver and use the cable from the esc into channel two (booster in aux powered from 1s, switch in off position) My good old Corrally rid...

Re: Tekin RS Pro on 1s

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a TQ booster and with it the servo is working correctly. I read the TQ site ad and it says to leave the esc switch in the off position. My switch was removed and wires soldered, should this joint be broken? The site also says to turn the switch on to maintain lipo ...

Tekin RS Pro on 1s

I just acquired a Tekin RS Pro to run 1/12th scale 1s, 17.5 class. This esc works fine when using 2s, senses, chimes everything works right away. When hooked up to 1s on hotwire, there are no chimes when setting up radio and only led's 1 and 2, and 6 and 7 flash. The motor is not the wrong type(work...

Thank you Terry. I have been looking for quite awhile. When I really gave the issue some thought, this site and people like Terry make this the best site for finding out just about everything RC. Thank you.

Nice work! The older we get, the more nostalgic we get. Should be an article out of an RC magazine. Nicely done..

Team Orion 1/10th foam tires

I have a bunch of sets(4) of Team Orion foam tires, not dried out yet, looking for someone who can enlighten me as to the colour scheme used by Orion? I have yellow, red, pink, purple etc and need to know which order they go, hard to soft. This would be easy if I owned a dourometer, but do not, henc...

Re: how do I know the capacitators are ok?

You said that you "extended" the capacitor leads. I think that the best way to have a troublefree straight forward install is to get caps with correct length leads. Every joint is a potential trouble spot later on after everything has been jolted, moved around during use. If the soldering ...

Re: Soldering Battery Packs

Hi I have found that you need to use solder paste similar to the stuff plumbers use. A dab of paste on the wire and cell ends will ensure good contact and solder flow. A good solder joint is shiny and like a bead. However, solder paste is very toxic, do not breath in fumes, probably not good for you...
