A stamp RC10 questions

Hi, I'm refreshing my first RC car which happens to be a Gold pan A-stamp RC10 that I raced when I started out 30+ years ago. Prior to the re-build, the car was box stock. I have 2 questions: 1) Is there a simple upgrade to the dogbone's? Id like to replace with a CVD / Uni joint but keep the standa...

Re: XX4 with tough belts - use belt rollers or no?

Hi,

Before the 22-4 was released I ran the xx-4 WE with a 6.5T, Tough Belts, without rollers and using the kit slipper. I also used the kit setup for the bearing block positions. Worked perfectly fine. Brushless power was taxing on the diffs (particularly rear) nut was fine if maintained well.

Re: Old chassis and lipos?

Hi there. I run a Losi xxcr kinwald in some vintage indoor racing. I wasn't able to find a lipo that was narrow enough to sit flat in the bottom of the tub. But, because the lipos today are a fair bit lighter than the older NiCd's and NiMh's, I had a small piece of brass plate cut that fit perfectly...

Re: Losi Street Weapon

So a bit of an update on the Street Weapon! Still got a few items to cover off, but I managed to find a nice Trinity motor clamp from a member on this Forum. I also had to purchase some new front threaded shock bodies and shock shafts as the ones I had were the extra short .28" from the XXX-S, ...

Re: Losi Street Weapon

Small update for my build.. The xxx-s hexes have arrived but I realised that I am missing the yolks for the front MIP axles (I must have stolen them for one of my XX-4 builds  The Lunsford Ti turnbuckle kit arrived as did the 13.5T Tekin Gen-2 motor. I also managed to find a Trinity blue motor...

Re: Losi Street Weapon

So I've managed to find some more parts on eBay.. I purchased a Lunsford Ti turnbuckle kit which also included a Ti steering rod. I picked up a XXXS hex kit which I hope will sort out my front hex issue with modern wheels. Ordered a Tekin Gen2 13.5 which should work well with the RS speedy. I topped...

Looks better now since giving the body a good wash! I think it had a good 15 years of dust on it!

Re: Losi Street Weapon

Im running the mip xxxs axles with vta wheels and tires on my sw. My gearing is 70 spur amd 37 pinon for 21.5. I see in your first pic a xx4 heavy metal? What are VTA wheels? I'm assuming they are a 10mm hex? I've only ever played off-road. Never really got into on-road much. I've got a pair of pre...

Re: Losi Street Weapon

Xxxs axles and hexes allows you to use any 12mm tc wheel front and rear. Get your hands on a xx4 slipper shaft and slipper set up amd you will get more options for gearing as you can use as small as a 70t spur. Great info. Thank you sir. I think I have an Aluminium xx4 slipper shaft NIP at home.. N...

Re: Losi Street Weapon

Next steps are to try and find:
  • Trinity blue motor mount (seem to be harder to find these days!)
Titanium steering link (I've lost the old steel one)
    Servo
Figure out gearing for the 13.5
wheel solution since the old street weapon uses an 8mm hex!

Losi Street Weapon

Hi all, It has been a while since I have posted up pictures of a build. I decided to dust off my old Street Weapon, 1st gen kit that has had very little use since I bought it when it was released. Unfortunately I got carried away and forgot to take progress pictures  I've been collecting parts...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - August 2016 ** - Winner - Headling

One of my XX-4 buggies. This the XX-4 WE. It is pretty much what i ran in the late 90's but i re-built it and gave a birthday. Its more or less stock with the exception of the Trinity shock collars, Motor clamp and motor plate / cam. I have it setup to the box setup and also have a Kinwald rear sway...

Re: Street Weapon Graphite

Hi there, Nice street weapon you have there. I am currently re-building mine that had not seen the light of day since I ran it in the 90's. Have you (or others) had issues with the Tough Racing rear belt being too wide? I've ordered a set, gone to install them but found that the rear belt was too wi...

The Heavy Metal body looks great.

Is that an original set of decals or reproduction? I am trying to find some for mine!

Re: XXX4 Team cars

Awesom pictures here, thank you!

Interesting to see that all the xxx-4's there seem to have none of the mods that were being done prior to the release of the 22-4 (steering rack, bumper, doubled towers)!

Cool to see Kinwald's and Cavalieri's colours on the xxx-4's!
