Determining rollout and gear ratios for 1/12 scale
Ok here is the question. What are target ranges for both gear ratio and rollout supposed to be for 1/12 pan cars on small carpet road track? I have looked at some charts and some calculators for the numbers, but what are the target numbers that you look for? I am running 49mm rear tires with 76 spur...

Re: re-finishing old fiberglass boat hulls?
this is more along the lines of what i was using, except the new formula seems not to need mold release, so even better. http://www.evercoat.com/productDetail.aspx?pID=106 if you want some pics of my test sample i did on my boat I will post some but my prep wasn't as good as it should have been, but...

Re: Team car (tub) build
I want to get some advice on this. Is this pack anything special, or "rare". I haven't seen one around in a long time. I need to get 8 bearings out of it. I am not sure if I should open it and save money or go out and buy them and save this pack..... Check out the $80 price though. Yeah i...

Re: fast color "r" pactra rattle can ????
PBR Allstar you were spot on. My prep wasn't great but the paint job turned out good and the enamel spray afterwards worked great too, 2 coats. The Fastkoat needed a little more time to cure and it was ok.
Turned out not as much of a "fail" as i first guessed

Re: Tom's pan car
thanks trkneller, for the most part the paint held up really well with all the crashing i did at the track last night for its first run. i need softer front tires for more traction, i would come down the straightaway to the sharp turn and slam into the wall  , but i got good at using brakes , ...

Tom's pan car
well here is my failed attempt at my hand at painting. It was a little rushed because the body was damaged in shipping and took the heat gun to get it somewhat back in shape. failed at 1) no prep scuffing on the body for Fastkolor paint - comes off easily with fingernail - used clear enamel spray ca...

Re: fast color "r" pactra rattle can ????
Johnny, It's probably best to pick between the two paints, the faskolor is a waterbased acrylic and the pactra lacquer will attack it. the only pactra paint that is really compatible is the Acryl line, which is not a spray can. I paint with both fastkolor, and pactra spray, just depends what I'm do...

i wonder if they will do what the Franklin Mint used to do with their "limited quantities" . . . . . . limited to the number sold  I worked at a woodworking shop that made the frames for prints that were "limited"; there must have been about 100,000 prints that were unframed...

Re: re-finishing old fiberglass boat hulls?
I have been fixing the topsides gelcoat on my sailboat and I used a marine gel-kote. I applied it with a foam brush. 16oz can I think it was $15. Easy to use and I am sure it would be stronger then paint since it is like a resin because you mix hardener with it. I mixed it on the light side so I wou...

Re: FlySky FSGT3B
There are definitely good reviews from here and other places on the flysky unit. the only negatives i have read are the short battery life and problems using them around other FSGT3B users, which to me seems weird but i am new with this technology. I am about to buy one and put the lipo mod on it an...

Try to keep a positive direction towards healing. My Dad has had thyroid and prostate cancer and has done well with recovery, both cancers only required surgery and he recovered fully from both, but he still gets regular blood work to make sure everything is ok. I wish your wife and family well, sen...

No matter how nice anything is, I would still want it made in N.A. I'm in the manufacturing industry in Ontario, and high paying jobs are scarce........as the saying goes "out of a job yet, keep buying foreign! That's why I bought the rc10 back in the day, made in the USA, and plus it was the ...

Re: Undefeated low bridge video, great footage
Well even the truckers know if they are within a few inches under the posted height limit they double check before they go through, because of repaving a street and the road crew not remeasuring after they are done. The trucker that got stuck under the train bridge told me that  Don't know wher...
