Nice choice of kit. Really fun to build. Even more fun to drive. It should have twelve 5x11 metal shielded ball bearings in the kit. I bought a Buggy Champ in 2009 and it came with twelve bearings.

They are. I was fortunate enough to grab a couple of KRs too. Well before prices rose to ridiculous levels.

Pretty cool. The cages just need the extra holes drilled in them to accommodate longer CB style Kyosho shocks.

I've had this about eleven years now. This is the Pro hand wound version of the Spec 19 motor. After reading the Son of Psycho thread I thought I'd share a picture of this motor that has been in my collection for eleven years now. It is very pink, especially when viewed in person.

That's the one. It has 19 turns of .65mm wire plus bearings. Kyosho recommends 7.2v to 9.6v in a boat or plane. It'd still be fine in a car.

I reckon it's a Le Mans AP36L Special. I have a brand spanking new one right beside me for reference. 550 motor, one piece can and removable endbell.

From memory the first Tamiya kits to come with Johnson motors were the Monster Beetle and Blackfoot. The reason was that the Johnsons produced more torque apparently.
