Re: 48P Optima Mid LWB conversion a success.

Nice video. It proves that the good ole opt mid can handle a big track. Looks very fast and smooth.

Re: Works 94 restoration project

That car is stocker than stock. It looks like a textbook example of factory oem. Im not sure about the layshaft. Did 94 come with TCS from factory? Really nice little bundle there. Especially the box!

Re: Works 91 build (replica)

Chassis looks to have some fairly large lightening holes cut in front. By the limited picture, they seem pretty smoothly done. Did it affect chassis flex noticeably?

Re: Works 91 build (replica)

Almost all can be found on ebay. Going to cost a pretty penny though. Its a bit of a waiting game, but various bits get sold / traded fairly often. Ebay and facebook. I think You guys in UK have the highest concentration of Yokomo, so finding parts close by should not be a problem. Almost all of the...

Re: Lazer ZX adjustable lipo tray

I def like the idea of a shorty solution for the lazer. It would be easy enough to make the front end about 1 or 2 mm adjustable to accommodate the tensioner.

Re: Lazer ZX adjustable lipo tray

May be its because I dont run any lazers any more, but all my built lazers have pretty tight front belts. I dont think they could even use a tensioner. On the other hand, a lazer alpha I had was one car that had very loose front belt. All my current lazers are very tight, and draggy because of it.

Re: Brushless Motor in 870C

The tires my car had were the genuine dominator dirt oval tires, very soft and sticky. Excellent info that yours are duratrax. I will search for some. The dominator tires were a bit too soft IMO, but might have been good for turf or carpet.

Re: Kyosho newb question

The real big difference is drive train efficiency. A clean optima mid has a very free and efficient transmission. A rear motor optima is more draggy, and requires more maintenance. Unfortunately, both models tend to ingest sand quite easily, so they become chewed up quickly.

Re: Brushless Motor in 870C

Those tires in your pic are the exact ones I ran on my 870c,, dominator tires I think... The rear tires and rear diff were shredding in noticeable amounts on every run. The 870 and mr4bc are probably the most efficient 4wd platforms I have ever run. They really translate power to speed very well. Th...

Re: Brushless Motor in 870C

I ran a 10.5 turn setup in my 870c, and it was ballistic fast. I dont remember the gearing, but it was about ideal, not over revving, and not over loaded. Heres the thing though,, the rear diff will quite literally melt. I would strongly recommend running a slipper clutch, or use a crappy old rear d...

Re: Kyosho Ultima C2.1 Trailing Arm Conversion

Thats a sweet shape for the trailing arm set. Im a bit confused about the front end though. Is it the traxxas bulkhead that gives the kickup? So, it pretty much needs a top deck to brace the front end if its built to run?
