I just felt a bad urge to show off my Procat on a worldwide stage, so here goes:
I bought an old wreck unseen. It turned out to have some good stuff on it, and some not so good stuff.

Thanks! The credit for the paint design should go to Mr. Erhard Dallas Mathiesen, IFMAR president. I merely copied it. He suggested I should call my car Copycat instead of Batcat.
Does anyone know what modern springs are available that will suit the silver top load shocks? Will the current Schumacher standard bore springs work? Looking for a compatible tuning set that's easily available. Thanks
Daniel

I use Associated spring sets 1581 and 1582. The range is a bit on the soft side, but have a look at the rates and see if they might work for you.
For a Procat diff. Is there any alternative to these paper friction discs? I would have every sort of paper up here so I could easily make my own. I've seen reference to using 1000 grade sandpaper, but I'm not mad about the idea of doing this......

Well I dunno if I could call it 'Pro', -more Am than pro!, but she's a runner! Great!
Bit of fiddling to get the front belt tension running centrally around the front pulley, that's good now but something is not right yet, maybe an alignment issue,...
Did anybody make a slipper clutch for cat3000? Factory option, aftermarket?

Im wondering why my search results dont list all the goodies from overseas... Do these sellers just not have their settings so that the item is available for world wide viewing?
I've been having the same problem I think with the last eBay update...
The CAT 2000 series (EC SE 98) and CAT 3000 share many parts but they have different motor and battery layouts. Is a universal chassis with holes to support the different layouts feasible or is there a significant difference between the layouts?...
I remember getting my only ever boxed, brand new Schumacher, the Top Cat, after the numerous cloaked ads that appeared in magazines like Radio Race Car and Radio Control Model Cars (IIRC)! What's this.....? No front shocks??? Or so we thought....!...

If you look again at the picture there's one of the spur adapters there too (the red thing)
They were made by RW Racing (Also known as SRM)
RW and SRM are not the same.
RW made (and still makes) special parts for several cars, sold by them but...
Hi, I picked up a Cat 2000 last week and want to race it, but I would like to convert to Lipo first though, anyone done this or come across anyone who has done this before? any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mark.

The CAT 2000 and CAT 3000 do not share the same chassis plate.
The CAT 2000 and CAT 2000 EC placed the motor toward the rear of the chassis with the batteries more forward. Though similar in layout, the CAT 2000 and CAT 2000 EC chassis are...
I seem to remember someone here had a car of his that had been run at the worlds or worlds warm-up. It was in incomplete condition, but was a prototype hybrid between a late procat, early bosscat. I can't seem to find the post any longer. Can...
Hi All,
I'm pretty new to RC10Talk, but know quite a few of you from the vintage section on Oople.
Thought I'd start a thread here and share some of my Vintage Schumacher projects (I always find I get more done on these projects during the winter,...

I've been sourcing parts for all sorts of builds. The trick is getting time to spend on them :? Don't worry there will be pics
Can anyone tell me who made these aftermarket gearbox plates?
And what sort of era?
They are thicker than standard and machined with a groove pattern for heat dissipation.
(If I guessed by the hole pattern I'd say they were for the Procat rather...

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the heads up.
I've always liked composite materials more than Aluminium for chassis parts, shock towers etc for just this reason.
I certainly wasn't going to seek out more aftermarket Aluminium bits but like you say probably ok...
I have already got a bit of a thread on oople but I thought I would add one on here too as I know some people here don't venture over there and I wanted to get a whole range of opinions on where I'm going wrong or right.
So here is how it started...

Hi pal I've not had chance to get the wasp box in yet as I was too busy getting the sx3 ready I overlooked the Procat a bit which came round to bite me a bit. I need up with the front end in bits so could of put the box in thinking about it. I'm...
Just tried the C car on the track. Need some more modification to cope with the modern Brushless motor.

Really great to see your video of the C car in action.
I have one lurking in the garage that has not run for approaching 30 years!
Its on the list for a tidy up once I've done the old Schumacher off road cars.

The last shipment from gomachv must have been contaminated -
All of a sudden, I felt a strong to build something purple ( Not Wear! )

Thanks Terry.
I received a good mix of shock towers with a well used CAT 2K 3-5 years ago.
I built a normal suspension, back then - and now trying to build a laid down version.
Would You happen to know if the carbon A-brace is correct for laid...
This is the Bosscat I was lucky enough to grab from a forum member. I've seen many people looking for Cat and Bosscat slippers (apparently a lot of Bosscat Sports out there!) and since this one needed a shaft (bent shaft, slipper backplate tore up...

Jeff very kindly sent this to me with the Jamie Booth Egress chassis parts - I intend to fit it to my Bosscat which is mid-rebuild and I'll feed-back on performance :)
I managed to find a good deal on a Cougar 2 Team in the Oople classifieds which had been run in a club vintage series. It's in pretty good condition, but has more play in the suspension pivots than I would like and one or two other bits which I...

I did a few laps at the end of a normal race day at EPR last weekend. EPR has a huge tabletop , a smaller one and is generally a very ripply astro/tarmac/concrete surface. The C2 was sublime, waaaay easier to drive than my modern racer and easily...
I have to say the CAT 2000 style shocks are growing on me a bit - I like the adjustable pistons. I wonder why those haven't been adapted to modern shocks?
One thing that does bug me is the black foam piece that goes into the shock seal assembly. As...

Checked the shocks this morning after a couple of days with fresh oil, and there does not appear to be any leakage. So it looks like the foam trick worked. Good, because I have plenty of that stuff ;)
I'm looking into getting some of these made and was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a set made at the same time.
This is a 3d drawing of what will be machined out of 4mm 6082 T6 Alloy.

So after some time I've recived my custom alloy front diff hangers. The delay really was Tim who made them has only just started producing alloy parts and was waiting on a new finishing tumbler to make them all nice and shiny and smooth.

I got this as new although it was missing a few pieces  like one of the bags was a zip lock and the front suspension was started. I decided the best way to make sure all the parts are there is to build it. I didn't take a lot of pics, but I...

I've always wanted to own one of these, mainly because it's Schumacher world champion.

I'm looking for this Schumacher(pic below). But; with a battery configuration like this one( Also a beam style front end. Has anyone seen one or know where I might look? Also; does anyone know what it's called? Thnx!

Hi everyone
I'm after a bit of help I have managed to get hold of what seems to be some kind of cat custom chassis and wishboans can someone help me out with the measurements of the xl and xls chassis to see witch I have. I will get some pics up...
I have been collecting these parts for years now and finally have made a start on building the car. I can't believe some of the differences with the XLS.
Happy new year to all

Have any of you seen a chassis of this type before? I bought it recently thinking it was from a Fireblade 2000. But it's quite different, i'm pretty sure it's from a Schumacher though.
This is the base of the chassis next to a standard Fireblade...

It's got the 2000ec look about it and that chassis is very nice I do like a lesser spotted prototype rc

If you go metric or inches just make sure you get some new good quality nitrile ones. I have been very disappointed with some of the New old Stock U725Y floating around. Nitrile isn't ageing gracefully, especially if it has been exposed to light and...
