Bought a sst on fleabay without the center motor plate, kinda bummed trying to find parts for it being that I live is the US of A. Wondering if anyone knows if I could use a motor plate from a different model.
Until recently I didn't know that...

I ended up scoring a parts lot. Should be good to go.
not sure which forum to post to so hope it's OK to post here as is after all 1/4 contains CAT content.
got my sister to take this hence some bodies may not belong to certain chassis.

that looks super! It seems mine has the battery holder much more forward compared to yours at the mo. My thinking was to use shorty and saddle packs. So when running shorty I'll need it to be more forward to make up for the weight difference.
Hi guys, bought a fireblade 2000 from ebay its missing a few bits, can find a body and undertray, but can't find a gear cover anyone point me towards one( schumacher UK don't have one.) Will post pics when it arrives, cheers all.

You might almost be better off seeing if a Losi RPM gear cover would work, or any other manufacturer for that matter. You might have to drill and tap a couple of new holes in the motor plate but that would be better than no gear cover at all. Unless...
I recently purchased a cat 98 to restore. I don't have receive the car for the moment to make a pictures.
I did not find the instruction manual but only that of the CAT2000.
Does anyone have this manual to send me ?
Or do you know the...

The CAT 2000 uses a different body to the later cars. The upright shocks of the original 2000 means when they moved to the laydown shocks with the 2000EC, Schumacher made a new bodyshell to cover the rear shock mounts.
Got this in a trade today - He left with my clodbuster.
No idea on the SWB body, but it´s got a half naked Hula-girl and that´s something.

Here are my Brimods in bits, I think those shocks on the box are Brimod but made for Schumacher maybe as prototypes? The main seal on the Brimod is the same as very early SWB dampers and the arangement is very similar, I think there must have been...
I picked this up off of craigslist for a pretty good price. Overall its in ok condition, but the top shaft of the transmission is really jacked up. I dont expect to turn this into a shelf queen, but I would like to make it into a runner.

I never had much luck with those plastic shock seal housings to be honest. They always seem to leak no matter how well I build them.
I am running the purple alloy shock seal housings. They work extremely well!
Decided a while ago that it might be a good idea to reverse engineer my Cougar. Just in case the time comes when a 3D printer can produce usable parts in a quick and low-cost manner. Or if I happened to win the lottery and could afford the costs...

Hi,
I've been doing the same!
What CAD system are you using?
I've modelled all my touring cars apart from the mi4cxl and the cat sx3.
Schumacher guy's, is this the sst99.. Got it with my cat 2000ec it has some purple blingy bits. I did a full hex screw conversion an replaced pins an shock shafts, shock mounts, shock bottoms, spring cups, an got some schumacher wheels. It came with a...

Thanks for that mate. Yeh it's got alot of bling so i wasn't sure, so thanks for clearing that up..
Thought I'd throw a couple pics of my nostalgia build in its current state. I used to have a cougar club10 back in the 90´s. Remember having a Hitec Challenger 260 and a yellow Tamiya 1700mAh stickpack (which was a bit hard to fit in the holders)....

As groomi suggested its a cougar 2 team, but looks like previous owner broke one of the front arms and couldn't find the correct ones a replaced them both with cougar/club 10 arms.
Good score though with the correct arms a new body and a...
Hi, I was recently given a Schumacher nitro 10, and want to put a new engine in it, can anyone suggest one that is not too expensive? Would love some advice.
Last post
Have you considered a Radial engine. That will get you from A-B:)
Does anybody know what model this is and where I could get a manual?
I believe its a Nitro 10 but which one??
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, ive just aquired a MKIII nitro 10 truck with an Irvine XR15 engine, I had two of these trucks a few years ago that came with the Irvine 15R engine, does anybody know the difference between the two engines?
Launched today 8) I was thinking about a SVR for next season, but I might just have to buy this instead.

I'm laughing but probably for a different reason. Just in case I got it wrong. Did I just hear a grown man who plays with TOY cars calling other toy car playing grown men gay because they wanted to try something different? I would think the majority...
Back in the day I used to watch these cars go round my club track with envy. I ended up buying a used CAT XL from a fellow racer back then and this car served me well. It made driving in stock a breeze.
All these years later I wanted to build up...

I raced this car just a couple of days ago at the 2013 vintage Castle Hill 2 day meeting and it was simply insane! I swapped the esc out for a Tekin FX PRO, Spektrum receiver, 540 silver can motor and 5100mah lipo saddle packs.
The car was actually...
I have a Nitro storm 21-xs.
I have had it about 15 years.
it has the original box and instructions.
I get it out from time to time to play with it.
The engine puts lots of oil on chassie and running gear.
More recently I have decided to clean it...

There are also a load of differences between the original CAT, CAT XL and XLS.

Rear differential built into layshaft, like the RC10 6 gear gearbox
Integrator unit where the rear diff should be, to adjust drive to front...
Looking at the spare parts listing at racing-cars.com I'm a bit confused. There are several items which seem to be compatible with the cougar/cougar2 but which aren't listed for these and I'm sure the situation is similar for other cars. As an...

The big 6 steering blocks etc in the first part number should be fine on Cougars, actually quite a lot of the big 6 parts can be used on cougars. As for those Rascal part numbers you posted, i'm not too sure. They do look similar, and may work, but...
Anyone know where (if anywhere) we could buy screw sets for older Schumacher cars?
I have lots of new plastic to restore my old Cougar 1, 2 and 2000, but what I'm short of is screws ! :)

Oh my, I only just saw this. I can't believe you're selling it Luke! My own restore went on hold when the little one came along, now I fear that all those parts are never going to make it into a car that I'll actually race. :(
Whoever gets this had...
Recently, I got several Schumacher Cat at restored (CAT, Procat, Bosscat) :D :D :D

@CAT3K,
Yes the wheels are matt silver. Initially, it was the rim original CAT (black color) and I wanted to paint in Chrome color.
I used Alclad chrome paint but the result is not good.
When I have some time, I would start to paint these rims...
Spent ages sorting our these decals as couldn't get them anywhere so thanks to J1mbo and Terry for helping me get them produced.
It isn't perfect (my lack of painting skill) but I think it looks quite good :)
Enjoy the pics guys. Some were...

Finally got the issue with your car in dan,was quite a lucky find actually as we don't usually see that mag over here.I found it buried at a non local newsagent
inspired by so many great threads here and the fact that I want to build something Schumacher to run against all these RC-10 re-releases I'm sure will be coming out to play, I've started to gather parts for my own Cougar build.

It sounds like you've got the wrong length insert peice for the spacing of the bearings? With the bearings in position & the insert/shaft pressed fully 'home' the castleated end should be flush with the outerface of the bearing.
I have never owner a Schumacher product, but I ran across a new Cat SX and decided to get it. I must say - I'm blown away by the high quality of the components. I have no idea how it handles, but the parts are premium! Are all Schumacher buggies...

CAT XL to XLS, what changed??
I remember when the original SWB came out, then the conversion kit came out quickly afterward, then you could buy the XLS, but I don't remember the XL being available as a kit, but looking on the front cover of my...

Compared to the XLS the XL CAT....
...does not have turnbuckles
...steering bellcranks does not pivot on the brass inserts but on the screw itself (nut on top)
...has rear stabilizer bar
...has zero degree front shock mount
...only has one hole...
With my office gradually being taken over by vintage Schumacher bits and my racing exploits beginning to show on the joint bank account, it is time to start making this hobby pay its way. I already have a Procat nearly ready to be sold on...

looking forward to seeing them finished... might have to reconsider my idea of getting a TT Phoenix in case one of these ends up being in my price-range (not likely though)
Just picked up this little Club 10,it's only been run twice.
Can anyone clue me in if this is the first version with the belt drive,or the second one?

Thanks!

I've started a build project that is aiming to bring the Bosscat into the format of the legendary XLS. Basically, I love the original C.A.T. (as a jr I bought a kit from the first batch of SWB's that reached Sweden back in '86, I should have...
