that looks super! It seems mine has the battery holder much more forward compared to yours at the mo. My thinking was to use shorty and saddle packs. So when running shorty I'll need it to be more forward to make up for the weight difference.

You might almost be better off seeing if a Losi RPM gear cover would work, or any other manufacturer for that matter. You might have to drill and tap a couple of new holes in the motor plate but that would be better than no gear cover at all. Unless...

The CAT 2000 uses a different body to the later cars. The upright shocks of the original 2000 means when they moved to the laydown shocks with the 2000EC, Schumacher made a new bodyshell to cover the rear shock mounts.

Here are my Brimods in bits, I think those shocks on the box are Brimod but made for Schumacher maybe as prototypes? The main seal on the Brimod is the same as very early SWB dampers and the arangement is very similar, I think there must have been...

I never had much luck with those plastic shock seal housings to be honest. They always seem to leak no matter how well I build them.
I am running the purple alloy shock seal housings. They work extremely well!

Anyone know if the sv2 undertray will fit the svr or know of one that will? Thanks :mrgreen:

As groomi suggested its a cougar 2 team, but looks like previous owner broke one of the front arms and couldn't find the correct ones a replaced them both with cougar/club 10 arms.

Hi guys, ive just aquired a MKIII nitro 10 truck with an Irvine XR15 engine, I had two of these trucks a few years ago that came with the Irvine 15R engine, does anybody know the difference between the two engines?

I raced this car just a couple of days ago at the 2013 vintage Castle Hill 2 day meeting and it was simply insane! I swapped the esc out for a Tekin FX PRO, Spektrum receiver, 540 silver can motor and 5100mah lipo saddle packs.

There are also a load of differences between the original CAT, CAT XL and XLS.

Original CAT
Short wheelbase
Rear differential built into layshaft, like the RC10 6 gear gearbox
Integrator unit where the rear diff should be, to adjust drive to front...

The big 6 steering blocks etc in the first part number should be fine on Cougars, actually quite a lot of the big 6 parts can be used on cougars. As for those Rascal part numbers you posted, i'm not too sure. They do look similar, and may work, but...

Yes the wheels are matt silver. Initially, it was the rim original CAT (black color) and I wanted to paint in Chrome color.
I used Alclad chrome paint but the result is not good.
When I have some time, I would start to paint these rims...

The reinforced belts werent in stock when I ordered the car but came in shortly after so I swapped it out. The mid belt did start to fray after the first couple of races though. Didnt think it would take as much of a beating as the others but I was...

Compared to the XLS the XL CAT....

...does not have turnbuckles
...steering bellcranks does not pivot on the brass inserts but on the screw itself (nut on top)
...has rear stabilizer bar
...has zero degree front shock mount
...only has one hole...

looking forward to seeing them finished... might have to reconsider my idea of getting a TT Phoenix in case one of these ends up being in my price-range (not likely though)

The adapter at the far left will be made in nylon and tested before i make any changes. It will make running standard wheels alot easier for me.

Nice build, think it was a good decision to go buggy rather than truck.

Before making the decision, I looked at a bunch of truck and buggy pics. While the trucks looked ok, there was something about the buggies that made that option more...

Topcat undergone its first wash, it was really dirty. Looked like a spider had taken residence in the front bulkhead. Chassis had a quick go over with some brasso but still needs more work to get it properly cleaned up. Not sure on the front end...
