Finally got around to finishing this one, Quite early model (mostly the shocks differ from later models) Has graphite shock towers and wide front end kit otherwise all standard with repop body. :D
I just messaged Masami on Facebook about what green he uses on his bodies and he got back to me right away but with little information. He said it was a mixed color and he doesn't know the ratios. What has everyone or anyone found with their own...

Okay, thanks Peakey.
On the website, they list racing green, lime, neon, metallic, and spearmint. I think metallic looks the closest -- although it looks a little brighter but maybe it's due to different lighting. I reckon I'll order a can and try...
It's definitely an 834b bulkhead but I've never seen a chassis like it , could it be for a mod trailing arm setup ? There are no mounting holes for the stock arm mounts , I mean it looks very 834b in the cut out for the...

Wow looks awsome did you buy the chassi or made it ????
I have here a Yokomo Works car that I have assembled using many option parts and a few one-off parts. The car started off as an incomplete but new Works '91 and I have added the custom parts to build the car you now see. I have listed...

Somebody could have drawings or scans of this chassis ?
Fibre-lyte does not have nothing even if they have made this chassis in the past.
Some advice for newbiers buying a used Yokomo offroad.
In the last few years old offroad yokomos have gain popularity and prices have gone up a madly. Here are some recomendations for those who have dediced to spend some cash and buy a used vintage...

That really goes for any car, but I know what you mean particularly about yokomos. One other thing is that the magnesium parts are kinda fragile so you expect the bulkheads and carriers to sometimes suffer stripped holes, stuck screws, etc.
This superdogfighter works 92' was my first real runner at the time (1993)
and it's the only car i kept from this period (i tought it got one of the best RC car design)
in 90's i was student and doesn't got so much money to put in rc, but the last...

Does anybody know what type of plastic was used for the gears on an 834b ? Mine are almost brown discoloured like old RC10 nylon components and I'm wondering if they are nylon , I don't mind the colour as they are out of sight ( I know you can...
By chance does anyone know where I could locate some ZD-422 rear 94 YZ10 dogbones (or similar...)? If you have extras and would be willing to part with one set (Im good with used but in decent shape).
i bought this Yokomo YZ-10 Works some years ago, now after a few years of hunting for parts, i started the rebuild. Unfortunatly im still missing a few parts which i must have missed so i didnt get that far as i wanted. Anyway i wanted to show...

It's beginning to look very very good now! :) Restoring those high-end confidential yokies is a labour of love... so many versions... so many mods by racers along the years... all this with a semi-confidential distribution. All challenging projects....
Found this beauty recently. It's a hardly used YZ-10 '94, though not 100% sure as i'm not a Yok-Expert. (Would appreciate anybody can confirm that my research was correct  )
As far as i can see, it's stock to the bone, has very Llttle signs of...
My attempt at a 97...not quite finished but couldn't resist posting anyway! Its taken 4 years to get to this after seeing a 2 page spread in the Oct 97 issue of radio race car (photo attached). Enjoy.....

Very cool Paint job - incorporating both the Japanese and the Amercian flag
Hey guys,
Just did another run of Protech bodies and ran into same issue had at other location. There is a line that forms in front of the windshield on nose. I discovered the reproduction MRLEXAN mold is most likely in need of some modifications....

Hope you figure this out, I just got 870c and Works body from you and looking forward to owning a Protech one like I had. How does bluegroove do it? I'm sure someone has one.
I'm looking at an alternative rear wing for my old doggy and I see a lot of pictures of some larger ones , where would I find one as I've never seen them on eBay ? , the current one i have is an RPS reproduction by TBG that's commonly seen for sale...

I've only just seen this , thanks for posting , I've been deep in my Zerda build , I might have to get one as the TBG one was a little off in the fit , I'd also like a new colour scheme .
I was just thumbing through the Euro magazine scans on Retromodelisme.com and noticed this pic of an early prototype 834B in the Dec '82 issue of Auto RCM.

Sorry reading back I got a bit pedantic and off topic , I meant no offence .
Feel free to shoot me down for being lazy; I have done a semi-decent search of the forum for this information but it might be that I've missed what the rights posts.
Currently I'm building a 94 runner from scratch. I have assembled the major...

There's a screw kit here:
Suspension pins are 3x47mm for the arms can't remember the ones for the hubs.
I've been meaning to make these for a while , the idea being to be able to use later Yokomo wheels on the YZ-834Bb and to add a little to the track .
They are an 8 mm spacer that slides over the original drives , this adds 2 mm per wheel , 4 mm...

I've had this old RPS dog for years (I bought it from Doug aka Apexspeed) and had gathered some parts for it over the years which were thrown in the box as I stumbled on them. I decided to give it a go and mounted a servo, PK Corally belt tensioner,...

Think im going to make something similar to this chassis brace for my build.
First chance I've had to check out this recent purchase. Would love some of the resident experts opinion on how much on this looks stock and how much has been modified (if anything)?

Hey - I'm thinking about building a Works 91 from scratch using as many new (NIP) parts as I possibly can. I don't mind taking my time collating them all together, but wanted advice as to which I'm going to find the hardest (or impossible) to...

Chassis looks to have some fairly large lightening holes cut in front. By the limited picture, they seem pretty smoothly done. Did it affect chassis flex noticeably?
Can anyone explain the purpose of the center slipper in the 870C, and under what circumstances you would tighten or loosen it?
I understand that in most modern cars there is a slipper on the main gear to protect the drivetrain and...

you might want to explore some of the YR4 manuals, especially the very first one. it is essentially the 870c with touring car arms. So there may be further tuning info in the manual, as I think(can't remember exactly) if they still kept that front...
I've got an 870C that is finally almost fully restored! Here is a photo of the current motor, which came with my YZ-10 kit:

The tires my car had were the genuine dominator dirt oval tires, very soft and sticky. Excellent info that yours are duratrax. I will search for some. The dominator tires were a bit too soft IMO, but might have been good for turf or carpet.
This Yokomo 834B last saw action in 2010 when we had a local vintage event - after which it was put on a shelf and untouched for the last 7 years. lol! :)

That's the concept used on the yr4 and hot-dog to run a stick pack under the belt. They even use a second one further forward to keep the belt level before dropping down to the front diff.
I just recently acquired a B-Max4 II and want a new body for it, seems there all discontinued. Does the B-Max III body fit? Can anyone list the bodies that are compatible. Thanks

Repost in correct section now. Go to see a few of these in person Yesterday. This one was one of the most modded. Rear shock mod is the most different. They had been in storage for a long time.
My brushless setup us roasting my stock steel drive shafts.
If there a CVD set that I could buy that would allow me to use my stock hubs and wheels.

Please remember the wheel axles from that post are too short. You'll have binding issues, and so you'll need to find longer wheel axles to make that work. The dogbones I found are the correct length, though.
I am in process to putting together my shelf queen 94 YZ10. So far I have a super mint box art 94 YZ10 and Novak 410-HPc. I decided to use an Orion SV2 BB 10x2 since the angled brushes look cool but I may switch to the Reedy 10x2 motor...

Curious, how do the JR NES-1001 compare to the KO Propo PS-1001?
They are similarly as old. The obvious difference is the JR does not have the 4th wire; I was wondering if the servo was the same but ran on a 6v bus.
I'm rebuilding the diffs now and need some new ball bearings. In each diff, there is a single 4x8mm ball bearing in the pulley and two ball bearings (that look identical to the 4x8mm) in one of the...

Ok, thanks!
So I'm just going to order a pack of 4x8x3mm ball bearings and they should be fine, at least as good as the stock bearings from 30 years ago?
Does it matter if I get rubber sealed bearings or something else?
