New to the forum and thought I'd post some pics of my YZ10 project. This car was originally owned by Scott Brown and was raced in the A-main of the 1995 Ifmar Worlds. It was missing shocks, wheels, one of the nuts for the Suzuki hubs and the slipper...

Quick question, did the original 1988 series of YZ10 (sold in the US) only come with associated gold shocks or was their a possibility of getting them with the Yokomo silver shocks ?
So this will be 95 percent new and with as many hopups as I can find. I have a sheet of iridium graphite coming to cut new shock towers and a new top deck. Stay tuned!
Has anyone attempted anything to bring the faded colour back to life?
Thinking of lots of ideas in my head but surely this has been covered before?
The inner wheel under where the tire was in perfect, the outside is faded as you would...

I have an 870c with a set of faded pink rims just like the ones mentioned above.... i actually quite like the weathered 'patina' if you can call it that. The contrast between the outer face of the rims and the inner wheel area looks kinda cool in my...
Finally found a new pair of the 'infamous' TR-31's from the 1991 IFMAR worlds on eBay. I remember reading all of the drama surrounding these tires in old issues of RC Car Action as a kid.
Displayed in my case with 3/16 axle RC10 rims and MCI Yokomo...
Does anyone know the Yokomo part numbers for the front and rear springs? I can find part lists for the YZ-10 but not for the Works 91. Might they be the same? Based on photos the rears look to be the same but the fronts on the W91 look to be shorter...

My NIB Works 91 is wrapped up and under the tree, until tomorrow at least. I also got a couple sets of the ZC-715 and ZC-725 from eBay recently. I do plan to build it so will be able to compare the NIB springs to the 715/725 spares. I got the extra...
Picked up this nice 93 works. I think I can whiten those bulkhead caps and i have a new set of copper springs for it as well.

Should have some rebuild updates on this one soon. I'm just waiting to get my stock arms back from my buddy who is machining some nylon arms for a runner build.
Hi all I’m new to this forum and website I normally restore Tamiya’s but in the last month I’ve come into the ownership of a rc 10 which I’ve restored and now I’m restoring a yokomo dogfighter it’s coming along nicely but I haven’t a clue what...

Anyone have an idea as to what the springs on the left are? The right is the standard yz-10/works front set but the left are advertised as ‘93 but they sure weren’t the stock copper springs on the Works ‘93....
Need help IDing who made this YZ10 chassis, kind of looks like an associated chassis with the random horizontal lines that break up the weave.
Thanks Spoon

My guess is it's just an associated one. Carbon fiber weave is sometimes inconsistent, so you can see flaws sometimes. I have an isotropic (no weave) composite craft chassis that has a little bit of ripple in the fibers. really apparent if you catch...
I’ve been searching all over the internet (to no avail) to find out if the YZ-10 bulkheads/caps (and differentials since i’m on the topic) are the same as the original YR-4 ?
I did come to a conclusion (could be wrong) that they are...

for the 870c/yz10, as far as I am aware, the bulkheads are indeed almost identical, except one is magnesium, or a possible aluminum upgrade, and one was made of black plastic. I believe interchangeable except there might be a tweak or minor trims of...
Hey guys, thanks to many of the amazing forum members here my '89 Masami Yokomo YZ10 Worlds replica is coming along well. I just got my 4+2 chassis that I had cut out - here's a teaser of how some of the project is coming along.

I think there's a small update, there's word of a chassis all drawn up and I think the first one had been cut so I think it's just a matter of time before they start poping up  And after a poor replica sold on eBay for nearly $1300 last week...
I'm looking for a couple Yokomo rod ends to finish up a project. I'm hoping you guys here can help me out.
I'm unsure of the correct part number but they are similar to an Associated shock end but the ball is threaded.
I have included a pic for...
I've been willing to build a Porsche 934 RSR with a Vaillant-Kremer livery for years and this is now slowly getting real since I bought a Tamiya Porsche shell recently. I bought the body separately and it is the one that was supplied with the 30th...

That's a stunning scale model and the wheels are perfect ! :D
I still hesitate for the title ... let see it when the car will be finished :)
To be honest, I buy this car as a chassis donor for another project, but got so many spares that I decided to do something with it.

you knew this had to happen sometime :). I thought i cannot leave this kit sitting around in the garage and have therefore chosen to start a build project that i'll document as far as possible for the past.
Hi all I'm new here but after reading up on a few other builds Ithought I'd post up my Yokomo YZ-834B build project ,It starts as what is I'm sure a very failiar story ,I'm in my mid 40's ,used to race 1/10 back in my teens and have recently try'd a...

Thanks , its not a perfect copy but I've never had the chance to take measurements from a real one , this was made using my car for some basic dimensions and numerous pictures found online for reference .
This thread is for converting the old style Yokomo YZ-10 870c square hubs to the standard hex hub. There is no real definitive thread on the web with ideas, how to, or discussion about it. I'm creating this thread to move all the posts about this...

So. What was the final recipe for hex conversion on an 870c / AE YZ10 with the wide front end?
So I picked up a Yokomo 870c recently as a project car. A big headache with these (among several) appears to be finding a way to fit modern rims on it, since it uses proprietary square wheel hubs. I happen to have a Tamiya DB01 lying around, and I...

So have you all figured out the 870c hex conversion or what? Lets see what you have all been up too!
This is a driver with a 10.5 brushless setup. The car raced in the late 80s competitively, other than the body, motor/esc/receiver its the same car, never disassembled, same shock oil etc. from the 80s

I've driven it a good bit. It's a bit loud relative to today's cars, but drives like a dream. Very powerful and responsive still after all these years. 8)
This is my only Yokomo car and don’t know much about them. Looks like it’s been used very little if at all but missing some parts. Are you able to identify which model it is and year it was build? I would like to restore it as close to original as...

Very cool. Nice job finding the parts! Either body will work. I believe the front bumpers were only formed kydex, no special molding.
This was given to me by RJ (along with the Traxxas Bullet that I’ve recently rebuilt), and it’s obviously in need of some parts. I’ve downloaded a manual and parts list to determine what I will need to track down to get this one rolling again....

Some photos of latest project, a carbon fibre tub YZ-10 (courtesy of Sven). Going to need some help with this one; looking at the chassis I'm guessing it's been designed for a Works '93 as it has the slots for adjusting the belt tension? If so, I...

Guys I have a selection of uni's for the YZ series of 4WD buggies and and wondering what part number belogs to what model?
Anyone have a list of some sort?
Also can anyone tell me which shafts suit the 91 model?
I have ended up with a few left over parts for the venerable Dogfighter YZ-834b , some parts i made , some CNC parts that I've swapped out for genuine and a few that came as a bundle so i have surplus , I was tempted to sell a few bits but looking...

Hello fellow Yokomo gurus.
I want to bring back the stock bulkheads and hubs etc.. for these early dogfighters to like new. Im seeking opinions on wether sand or particle blasting is recommended to strip the ugly ageing and get these surfaces back...
Does anyone have a graphical list of the parts? I've seen some on the net in the past, but seem to have disappeared now, they were almost like a dealer catalogue type of thing.
Very nicely done! I love that you still run it with modern electronics, that's what I'd like to do to one of my '94 YZ-10's. The other ones I would like to run but with period electronics. I'm definitely going to incorporate that rear belt bearing...
I present to you my freshly restored Yokomo Works ‘91 Drescher Edition. Most of you will know that Yokomo did not make a Drescher Edition and it is in fact a Yokomo Works ’91 with a conversion kit centred around a change in front...
