I imagine the upcoming 12mm collars would work for the RC10, as I've used the RC10 collars on my Kyosho Gold shocks. :)

Yep, Gallop Mk2. Definately!

There were many parts exclusive to the Mk2 which werent on the previous Gallop and Progress models such as-

*Firbreglass radio tray.
*Rear cage section.
*Front shock mounts.
*Bumper.
*Gold dampers on all four corners....

Price difference is a lot, so makes a lot of sense why you bought it.

Apart from the shortcomings Coelacanth mentioned, the optima series suffer from understeer if you're using fast brushless system due to their rear heavy design. the optima pro was suppose to address this issue by placing the battery a little further...

Front expanded hole-to-hole length: ~73 mm
Rear expanded hole-to-hole length: ~97 mm

The steering setup I used should also work on the Ultima's ladder chassis. The Lazer steering I used can be configured like a stock Ultima or arranged like I did which is similar to most modern race buggies.

I'm going to try not looking then. This way I won't see other things I want to buy either and will be better off overall. :lol:

Any 230-235 mm wide 28 cm wheelbase body should fit, so Kyosho bodies for the 4WD Oval series (Optima MID-based) and Scale Series (Ultima on-road, Lazer ZX, Lazer Sport-based cars) should fit. Also, wide GP-10 bodies.

Non-Kyosho, look for RC-10L...

Ditto on the brushless setup. Modern speedos have voltage cutoffs, so it is a mute point. However, if you overdischarge a NiMh pack it will be damaged as well. And allot of brushed speedos don't have the voltage cutoff. -Jeff

Zx and zxr are much better. Better platform and more stable and easier to drive than the mid. Also doubt the mid can handle the brushless unlike the zx and zxr. The zx slipper is better suited to the brushless system. Ive fitted a 5.5 in mine.

Very nice! Have you driven it yet? It sounds way different than most cars since it has the belt in the transmission.

Thank you, I picked up a new set of rear tires now I just need to put an order together with Marwan for sum bodies and this will be complete.

This is a great story. I did the same thing about 5 years ago. I got a complete Optima belt drive system and a few NIP parts. Mostly got a bunch of used chassis and gearbox parts along with some stuff that I still can't figure out what they are.
