How hot a motor you guys think I can run on that esc that comes in alot of the re-re kits before it lets the smoke out?
Last post
ive seen people running the 19t trinity komodo conservativley geared. i ran it with my hotshot re-re for a while with the 17t pinion and it worked just fine. didnt get too hot on me, neither the motor or esc.
I built my son a Midnight Pumpkin. He's only 3 1/2 but he loves helping me with my cars. and he spent as much time as his mother could stand at the track watching me race last summer. I think he will be into it to. its all stock I bought it from...

Rick, I have a Super Champ body I need to send you! That yellow paint looks great!
send it I owe you one, I would love to paint it for you, do you still have my address?
Other than its looks . what makes the wild one so wanted as a kit?
Last post
Wild one is said to be the last of the 1:1 scale buggy kits... the others that came out were based on designs not actually buggies.. . I personally prefer the Fast Attack Version.. would love Tamiya to re-re it.
A little something I have been working on and driving the last few weeks!

I have a feeling the Sand Scorcher will be available by Christmas. Its the 30th Anniversary for the Rough Rider and Sand Scorcher and what better way to celebrate it by releasing the VW for Christmas
I have had this kit for awhile now . I finally took the time to look at the manual. My god there must be a least 35 to 40 bearings in this car. What was tamiya thinking about on this one. I love the looks of this buggy but it seems they over...
Does anybody know what the difference is between the Tamiya Juggernaut and Juggernaut II. I've looked at the boxes and for the life of me can't see any real difference, must be something.

If I was to do it again, I would go with a TXT with a juggy body. The stock juggy chassis leaves a bit to be desired.
Hi,was goin through my tranny box found I think jugg trans. Ido not know to put a pic on site but I learned how to send on KODAK...
Just got done assembiling tougether a buggy champ. What a fun car to run! Anyone else here using theres ore are they all shelf queens? What are you running for motors? I'm looking to upgradr to something only slightly faster than the stock 540,...

Gear box can handle the power pretty well. If you want to make it bullet proof, find the brass CRP gears. :D
If I was going to build an entry level vonats car, it would be a Frog and I would copy Brandon's setup. That car could race in 2wd buggy class and do well. (If Brandon was behind the wheel of course)
I think we need a thread on Brandons Frog HINT...
Ok, so I'm about to embark on my Blackfoot build with a load of hop-ups and chromed parts. One question as regards the transmission which I was hoping to canvas some thoughts on. I have both the Thorp telescoping drive transmission and the Thorp dog...

Sorry to ask again, but can anyone provide a link to the traxxas sliders that are referenced above?
The ones that will work with the blackfoot are from the 4tec.
We took the kids to a local car show/swap meet this past weekend. Tried to get the wife to buy a 1:1 project car but didn't quite convince her. One of the fleamarket vendors had a very dirty blackfoot for sale. I picked it up to check it over and he...

Very nice. I have two runners and probably enough parts to build two more. If you need any parts I may have some you could use.
Does someone knows if there are Tamiya Top Force repro bodies
available some where ?
Last post
yes, I think we're talking about the same: the dogfighter with the chain.
I don't own that car, just a body and it looks a good fit with minimal modification on the tray. For use on the dogfighter chassis the undertray is probably too short in the...
I remeber seeing this vidoe playing ay my local hobby shop. Joes hobby at wyoming and tireman in dearborn played this video . I was into RC planes at the time and just watched it when i was there. Now the planes are gone and
I have a blackfoot....

all the shops load up on is traxxas stuff... I really don't go there anymore for tech support and buy mostly online
Tamiya is re-releasing the sand scorcher. Finally I can get another one. go to for more info.
This would be awesome. I'm sure it would have a different name, but I bet Mrlexan could make some new decals for it.

Why would you want to sell your nib scorcher?
As many of you know, I got a divorce this last year and during that time I spent about $27K on my lawyer, car and bills. As much as I hate to do it, I plan to sell off the bulk of my collection. I need...

i agree the Avante line up including Egress sharing the same chassis is a real beauty! Im sure you got the original black spoke wheels for your Egress! I got the vintage 2.0 yellow wide wheels...
Here is a pic of F103GT that i built . It has a hpi body and hpi vintage rims an tires. I painted the rim centers flat black. This car is on my I wish I wouldn't have sold it list .
I wanted to find out if there's a place where we can get the gold 3mm X 12mm self tapping screws that was used on most (if not all) of the tamiya kits from the 80's.
We found a source for the standard 4-40 hardware that's used on the...

part splitters on ebay have the super clod a bags for like $4, which has a good selection of all length machine screws, but they are all silver or black, no gold.
Budget parking lot runner. I got this Carrera GT TB02 kit new for $40 last year and have never run it. I sold the stock Porsche body and tires for a total of $35. Snatched up a SC430 lightweight body from Tamiya for $20. Never really liked the look...

Thats a nice one! i have a similar project on the line, just got no time to complete the TB02 chassis because of some missing parts that i have to borrow to my TB EVO III chassis.
I have a SC430 Body painted in Burgundy and Gun Metal on the hood, i...
Hi all :)
The evenings are getting darker and this is what I came up with during those evenings: Another mixed-up car. It´s a Blitzer Beetle shell with a Monster Beetle-nosecone on an alu-chassis and TamTech dampers. Champagne, Light-gun metal and...
I found tis on craigs list a couple months back for 20.00 it was missing the radio box but every thing else was there the body was painted once so it was in great shape the condition of the buggy it self was like new I couldn't see any signs of...

Looks good so far. I love the red you used but I would have skipped the Carbon fiber sticker. once the rest of the decals go on you won't notice the cabon fiber sides as much. I figured it would be easier to remove the vinyle then to paint over and...
Here is my new biult dyna strom. What turn is the stock pink motor? Was this buggy very competitive in its day? Don't know if I will ever run it but just would like comments on its design. thanks dave

You should do a search for nimrod : there 's a thread on the site here with a reference to tamiyaclubs forum.
Nimrod is a company that recently started developping excellent parts for the dynastorm (much better than their site ; hence the advise to...
Although my heart starts pounding more & more for the RC10, I thought I could post this Sand Scorcher.
It has a MB-body and the chassiparts have been beadblasted. I painted it with 2 different grey (German Grey and Hazel Grey) since I...

That looks nice and clean. The grey color Reminds me of someone who has done a bunch of body work to his bug to get it ready for paint but still needs to drive it to work. Did you make the front bumper?
This chassis measures a strong 9-1/2 inches long. It came with a hot trick RC10 and a whole lotta parts that I have no clue about either. Those pictures will be next...

It still sits just as you see it. I would hardly say any Hot Trick products were engineered. Build tolerances are horrid, so is consistency. There was little to no fore-thought with assembly process/procedure either.
I have an RC10B4 and RC10 CE and my friend saw mine over the weekend. Thus, now he is interested in getting into the hobby and building a kit has the most appeal to him.
Given that he is budget minded does any one recommend a Sandviper over the...

The Sand Viper would be an excellent entry level car, great for starting out racing and playing around at the house. If he continues to race, he will eventually buy a B4.. Spend a little more now if possible. The RTR version you can find pretty...
Just picked this little beauty up at a local garage sale this morning. The guy who sold it to me said that it used to belong to his son and that it had not been used in many many years. You can see it still has bits of mud stuck to it from it's last...

That looks sweeet! highwayracer.
I need to get on the ball regarding my RC10 Hot Trick build. It will probably get started in the fall or winter as I am very busy now.
I am looking for a cheap set of chrome wheels for my lunchbox. I like the wild willy2 wheels does anyone know if they will fit a lunchbox? what kind of drive do they have? thanks
i got this from my buddy at the swap meet. paid only $150 for it!!
its a 1974 M-4 tank,1/16 scale. dual 380 motors , brass tracks (think they are brass)
has a single stick 3 channle radio , MRC electrics. tank works, but all the bushings need...
Ok i want to know what are other opinions are on which was a better racer in its day.
I had to make this decession back in 85 or 86..
I chose the Turbo Optima. I thought it was a better quality kit back than.

What I remember from my boomerang as 2nd weakest point was the massive wear out of the front suspension: the brass balls would get egg-shaped in no time and introduced play which then would wear out the plastic housing of those balls.
Wanting a sand scorcher but dont have the mucho $$ for one? Well here is one for us poor folk
Pretty simple really, 1 grasshopper, some brat rubber and rims, blitzer beetle lid and some craftiness.

Yea I got mine on ebay for like $30 now it didnt have all the chrome hardware tho which is the expensive stuff to get but I added leds so didnt really need those. My other beetle body is for the monster beetle I have and its the original tamiya body...
I have a Super Shot shelfer and is too good to run. So with this new addition to my collection it will be my vintage racer. Im going to fit bell cranks to it...

What shocks did you put on it???
I have a set of Yeh racing shocks that are 100mm and are perfect fpr the back but their 70 mm are too small for the front. The original ones dont much throw either.
Finished 4 bodies last week, and 3 more this week!
I found some netting and wanted to try a trick to get a lizard skin-look; something I had read about years ago.
This cheap body seemed perfect for the experiment.
First I did the metalic black; to...

Taking my time on the new buggy champ. I really like the kit but my favorite is the sand scorcher . I don't know what tamiya is up to but hope the re-release of sand scorcher is in the future . So I don't know what to do use the tower $60.00 off...

Buy the buggy champ now. You can always get an SS body later. If they do re-re the scorcher, then the bodies will be widely available and inexpensive.
I am going to do my first build third with pics as I go. This is going to be a replica of the Hornet I used to race in my teeny years, as best as I can remember it. I have a couple of old photos that I need to scan and I also have some video I need...

Wow, great shots, and very nice Scorcher! It's always nice to see a shelf Queen get a good work out once in a while. I hate getting mine dirty (initially) but once you have passed that pristine state of cleanliness, it's time to let'r rip!
