Tamiya's rereleased their SRB diff with a new part number 54897. From the pictures it looks to be identical to the 84113 diff. At least the crazy prices these things fetch will stop....... for a while. :D

Thanks for letting us know. Sounds like nothing was changed. When I saw the new part number I hoped that it was going to be a new design. A diff with a bent through bolt like MIP or Thorp would have been great.
I have a couple new Tamiya kits that include this motor and was wondering if they require any kind of break-in procedure -- the manual doesn't mention it.
I'd like to run the cars in box-stock configuration and want the best possible performance...
I finally got round to picking up an old rough rider to start a project , although its got a lot of very early parts its in a used condition and never going to be a shelf queen , this is ideal as what I'm planning is kind of a scale look runner ....

As I get older I trust my memory less and less  no halm no foul on the thread size.
Daughter is 4 now and I want to get the Brat going for her. It's the re-re. Still have the unpainted lexan body. Might go hot pink. Anyway......IIRC, when I stashed it away, there were some missing steering parts/linkages. Namely the servo...

I've got a Blackfoot carcass out in the garage. I stumbled upon it while looking for something else. I might just see if the steering rods (ends) fit the ballstuds on the Brat knuckles.
Like I said before, I will offer it up again, just let me...
And it appears to be very durable as well.
Your driving skills are better than mine. I seriously doubt that I could keep it going straight - that's a lot of speed in a very short distance.
Anyway, very cool!!! Thanks for posting the videos. :D
hey guys.. I can not seem to view or post in the For Sale area. I assume it is a restriction to newbies. What are the criteria for me to be able to use that part of the forum?
I was a bit heartbroken when I had to sell my mint Hi-Lux build last year. Link here:
Well, finding this shrink wrapped truck definitely makes up for it!
It's pretty crazy that a 30 year old truck like this is still sealed in the box. This thing...

Thanks guys!
I have not been able to get myself to open this kit. I am considering selling it, because I don't know if I can talk myself into building it. The fact that it's still shrinkwrapped makes it very difficult for me to open.
Here’s the Tamiya Blackfoot that I got for Christmas from my wife and kids :D and as much as I’ve always liked the box art version of it, I felt like there’s always room for improvement...
I never liked the roll/light bar, I always felt like the...

With a little trimming you can use df03 knuckles and cut the drive cups of some axles to get hex fit front wheels on these.
Had this given to me a few years ago, so decided it was time to give it some life, by restoring/rebuilding it. It’s what some would refer to as a Mk 1, but Tamiya never really had a specific change in their kits, rather they just made rolling...
I saw one of these for sale as part of an RC lot. If the body hadn't been painted red I would consider making it my first shelf dweller. I assume its an original, it has a mechanical speed control and just looks the part.
I remember this car being...

If its a shelf display car then an original is the way to go, if you want to run it then get a new one, there's not much difference in the relative cost as the Grass Hopper was a very popular car back in the day (had one myself) so there are plenty...
This is a 1/12 Racemaster that originally came with the Rothmans Porsche body. I had a vision of somehow mounting a lunchbox van body on it but never did because, even though the wheelbase was perfect, it was going to take alot of work to make it...

I haven't yet experimented with genuine MEK.
Anyway, you might find some useful information here
I have the release of the Ford Baja F150 and the Super Hotshot 2012 - the truck is built, but the Hotshot is going through the build process.
On my truck, I lost full time 4 wheel drive when the spline on the cup ground down in the rear...

Plastic. The metal idler gear that comes (or came, don't know how it is on reissues) with the buggy versions has the tendency to disintegrate when used with hotter motors, and the metal particles will eat up the other gears.
I never thought I would happen to win one of the big Vonats door prizes. Well, this year I did just that. Walked out with a new Tamiya Manta Ray kit. So now, instead of struggling with a rc10 on old tires, I'll get to go balls out with 4wd and...

(putting my TamiyaDan hat on  )
The MR is truly a great compromised platform for the time, what let it down (same for the top-force) was the absence of slipper, which was bumming the performance AND credibility of the whole thing, let...
Starting to put one of these together. Mainly because it was the first RC off road I built back when it came out. Shied away from it later because there were no parts available. You had to buy a whole kit to keep the suspension arms that seemed to...
Is that you showing off your Tamiya Hilux in the recent AMPRO video?
If so, I think you've done a fantastic job pointing out the differences between the various Tamiya 3-speed models.
I had no idea the Hilux was so different. That's a very nice...
I got a good deal on a built Super Astute rere.
Thought about how to go about this build/mod and figured I'll do a all black and gray version starting with the hardware.
I've never used Birchwood Casey Aluminum black and Super Blue (not yet...

I think this will be an interesting build - can't wait to see what you do with it.
I was completely unfamiliar with Tamiya Astute buggy until you started this post but I've been doing a little research - this is a very neat RC and it appears to have...
I have not been goofing with RC cars for a few years but I got the itch again. I bought a new Grasshopper and built it stock. Found the Ampro YouTube channel and loved the improved front end and threw that on with a Tamiya black motor and it's a...

This buggy I plan on running in the Classic class. Pretty much a bone stock Falcon with the exception of Losi springs and HPI superstar wheels and J concepts tires. Same combo I ran on the Frog.
More pics as I get her finished up as well.

The Marui Galaxy RS I resto-modded for my brother had a similar issue with the wing screwed directly to the body (rollcage, in that example).
Couldn't you simply drill a few holes horizontally in your FRP reinforcement piece between the shock...
This seller posted these a few years ago when the re release Bruiser came out, and then for a while stopped making them.
I pestered him enough that he started making them again.
Replaces the plastic gears in the new style gearbox.

I just about finished this truck. I built it from a partially assembled but never competed or run chassis. I had to find the body, decals, sway bar, misc hardware, and linkage.

I've always liked the Tamiya F-150 body, since it was my first rc car (Blackfoot) and I've always wanted to do something out of the box with it....I've had this body for a couple of years, not knowing what to do with it, until I had...

It's robably the ish thing. Some folks only like factory original... Not me!

This chassis is TAMIYA TA05R.
I found parts specifically dedicated...

Back to Super Astute, slight reaming, AE B4 spur slips right on, uses stock SA slipper plates and hardware just fine with AE slipper pads that match spur. Now you have standard pitch to match rest of your pinions.
I have a Top force Rere on the way and need some inspiration. I will be intially installing aluminum steering bellcranks, aluminum front hub carriers and motor mount along with a steel pinion and Tamiya 50529 gears with a 13.5T motor. I do intend to...

Hello friends,
I recently purchased a TopFroce 2017 to re-live my previous life as a happy-go-lucky, skim-on-meals-to-save-for-that-trinity-motor, they-don't-know-what-it-means-to-dump-before-4mins, Boy-Racer!
Recently bought a hornet . At least that's what my untrained eye thought it was. Now, not so sure.
It has the wrong bumper, wrong rear shocks, a rear suspension third shock, chrome wheels and inside the battery compartment it says Made in Korea ....

Thanks for all the help guys
I cleaned the the Lazer up a bit, really wasn't all that bad.
Cleaned and re-oiled the rear shocks. Cleaned and re-greased the suspensions moving points.
I have ordered a resistor pack so I'll soon see if the MSC works....
This is a old SRB racer that I have been slowly restoring. It has some crp goodies and a thorp ball diff,Tamiya technigold motor and option house shocks.I have electronics just not installed yet.

Ok So I've been on the site for a long time but have never posted anything about my King Cabs. I have a few of them. I recently got sick of the diff slipping constantly on my sons truck so I went for it and made some custom parts for it so I could...
I picked this up last night super close to home. It's super dusty, but it doesn't look like it was ever driven. If it was, it was indoors on carpet. I'll get the dust blown off today at work and see how nice it really is before the tear down....

I don't have a 3D printer, and probably not likely to get one, I just don't have enough use for it. Easy enough to get things printed and sent to me.
