Need a little help with finding servos for my RC12e, I recently picked up 4 Futaba Fp s-28's only to find they were too big and bottomed out on the chassis. Is there a good size to look for? Maybe 27's or 7's?? The car is from 1979...

The s28's are a tall servo.Taller than a Standard modern servo size such as a futaba s148. I believe the airtronics 94102 servos will be a much better fit. That's what I have for my 12E but mine has been modified so I can't say for certain.
Hi all,
First post here although I've been lurking for a while. A recently sparked interest lead me to pick up what looks like an early RC12E, I'm no expert though, so please feel free to correct me. I'm no stranger to being judged :)
I plan to...

i've been on a quest to find all of the parts i need to build all three of the HPI conversions for the 10l/10lss. i'm still missing three pieces, but as with everything, eventually they will show up. so here they are......

No luck in finding a chassis.
You've looked all of three days. These parts were made years ago, they may take some longer to show up.
Making a start on my first project today as the title it is An RC10L really wanted to do a RC12L first but seem very rare in the UK so couldn't find one! So heres some pics of the start of the dismantle and general clean....

True classic, pre-LS! Looking forward to see the final product :)
Got this 12e today from a friend who found it on CL. I traded him for a paintjob. The plan is to clean it up, get a TBG body off the bay for it. It came with a Futaba receiver and white IC servos but he kept those. Tires are hard as a rock and...

Cleaned up pretty good. I wanted to replace the top deck and bumper but they came back well enough and plus I wanted to keep it as original as possible. The team checkpoint motor label was done so it was removed and the motor cleaned up a bit.
First post on the forum, Used to run an RC12L at club and national level in the late eighties and have recently returned to racing GT12 in the UK so have got the bug to pick up ideally an original RC12L to get running at our carpet track....

Agreed it's an LW with dynamic front. Check the front of the chassis to see if it looks like anything has been cut off. I've cut them before to save a chassis that has had the nubs damaged from a crash.
I need to decrease the rear track on my Dual Sport my aprox 6mm. I am running 31mm HPI Vintage 8 spoke wheels and I really dont want to go down to the 26mm wheel because I don't want to loose the deep dish look.
I have had this car for years. Finally decided to clean up the chassis . Painted a McAllister Nissan wide body for it and added some white rim Jaco WGT tires .

Funny ... for some reason I always had Novak for my offroad vehicles but Tekin for all my onroad cars.
I've searched and found place for the help I was looking for to get my pair in my stable running again.
First up is my former road rocket, my RC10L...
What I need help with is what options are available for the front wheel/tires?...

does anyone know who made these ceramic diff rings i have had them from sometime in the early 90's they have had many many hours of run time on them and are still good no grooves or anything
Was not a big pan car person, but did have an RC10L way back in the day. It appears TA is coming out with a formula racer. Not many details on it yet, but looks cool and chances are I will buy one to be a shelf queen.
I had an extra pair of Hot Trick style chassis support blanks laying around and an MIP SP1 trans that I had rebuilt, and somehow that turned into a complete build. Kind of road race or modified style with a cut down Scorcher body and a set of TRC...

I got the wing cut, bent, and test fit. It came out well. I love the little M2 nylon hardware.
I bought this car brand new in 1995. It has been raced on a carpet oval with a Nastruck body, run on 10 cells as a drag/speed car, and bashed around parking lots, and it just keeps going. I put it away for a while, stumble across it again, get it...

Hello,
First off forgive any stupid questions as I have never had, nor worked on a pan car of any kind (except motors). A friend of mine at work had toyed with building an R/C car using 3D printed parts and all, just for fun. When I saw the RC12E...

I dont see why not? As soon as I get the other printed parts they can all get dyed.....havent decided on a color yet though.

I've got a couple of DS projects going on so I figured I'd start a thread to keep track of the progress. First up is a DS I acquired used that will be getting refresh.

Wow man. This thing is sweet, I really like the theme on the body
My first car was a 12e and one of the mods I had was this front end. I'd like to find another if it's out there. Don't have a part number or actual description, but it was an Associated upgrade. It came as a bag of parts and included. Don't know if...
With a bin full of used parts it seemed silly not to have a runner. Not modern, not old school- just whatever was kicking around. Topped with a TBG pantera body, I was thinking I was using racing red- it was bright red. Now she looks like a Ferrari....

Marc, that one got so little love that it almost didn't even get the windows masked out

Thanks to a good friend, I now finally have a car that I have been struggling to track down for a long time. As a young teenager growing up in Perth Australia, this was the last pan car that I ran. I remember thinking what a revolutionary design the...
I am starting to piece together my first DS and want to be sure of the parts needed to run modern wheels and tires. What is the easiest route to obtain the needed pieces and what are said pieces?

I decided to make a thread for my RC10 Nitro DS Willys. it was born of spare parts. it was mentioned in my Camaro thread but i felt it needed a thread of its own.
It has slowly evolved and has yet to be finished. A high speed setup was the...

Hello all. Starting a new project based off an RC10DS conversion kit. I received the the following chassis from a member on here a few months ago. It already had a lot of DS goodies on it and some custom work done by the previous owner. I knew once...

Wow abosolutely beautifull. You can't go wrong with black and gold.
Fred, if I have a standard rear pod, Ill line up some parts and try to take pics. It wont be until I can get into the garage this weekend. I think they can be adapted easily.
Not an on road guy, but I got these along with some other parts. No clue what they fit (besides an on road car). Address is Edinger but the label is to faded to make out anything else.

they are simple and addictive so give one a try
Like the title says, what is the best way to mount them? Using contact cement or using double sided tape?

Sorry misunderstanding - the tyres and rims just had to dip underwater so that the surface is completely wet - no need to squeeze the foam tyres so they soak up the water :) It takes around just a few seconds to get the surfaces wet and also if you...
I picked up a DS the other day and the transmission has me perplexed. There is no slipper at all. I would try to explain it but pictures are always better. This is how it sat on the car. Minus the motor plate obviously.
This is just the gear...

Almost all on road cars do not run slippers. They don't run the abuse of jumps and such. So they for years have not run one.
Topics about eBay auctions aren't allowed outside the B/S/T forums...and even there posting links to open bid auctions that aren't listed correctly generally gets people upset.
I fix it.....srry
As payment for some of my hard work for Rod, he gave me a 12L3 and a 12L4. Now, needless to say, they weren't complete cars, so here's where the fun begins.
Here's how the 12L looked. Seems nearly complete, but...

The bigest problem is traction, doughnuts will be plentiful. Something cheap like the Hobbywing 9t (4300kv) set to punch level 1 will still be plenty...

So in beginning my plan I am realizing that there are no tires.....lol should have read more threads. So as I understand... The sc10 front turnbuckles fit and just get a hex clamp for rear axles and then I cause modern wheel/tire combo?
