So i have a set of Tecnacraft wheels but they have paint on the back from being mounted to some painted hubs. Anybody have an idea how to remove the paint without hurting the Ano?

On a side note i also tried the acetone trick to remove some tires from a set of wheels, it also worked great, i was worried during the process, the tires kinda grew and got really soft, but after the glue was gone and the tires sat for a wile they...
After going through a couple paint jobs I have decided on race colors for my runners. The paint job is not perfect but I am very happy with the results. The cars look great next to each other. Now I just need to fix the RC10 and the Jrx2.

The paint job is sharp looking. Good job with your bodies there.
Here is my Curtis Husting checkered paint scheme replica as seen on the cover of the original RC10 manual. I still have to paint the wing and the driver and install decals. This paint scheme was NOT easy! I have about 18 hours in it so far.

I need to finish up a few little odds and ends but this car will be up for sale soon. Just wanted to show off the new paint I did this weekend. I was going to do a red white and blue theme, but after I got the black and the blue down I changed my...

Thanks for the complements! It has been refered to as the widow or the spiderman car by my daughters. I haven't had the time to finish trimming it for the shock towers. My first candy paint job was my first hobby rc. So you can imagine how that...

So should I have remove the film and painted the outside.

I was looking at their website the other day and fell in love with this body:
Problem is, I don't really know anything about their quality. Be it forming, decals, or fit of the multiple lexan parts. Anybody here had any experience with them? I...

I was looking for a slack-jawed head-scratching smiley, but this one will have to do instead: :?
I've been searching eBay and the web for bodies, or painters, and haven't been to successful. I found this on eBay:
which is an amazing body, but how would I get the wing painted to match? Kinda weird :?
My question is....Who is the man...

Hi.
As far as preventing paint from creeping under your tape I have found that burnishing the outer edge of the tape with an object as hard as your finger nail.
All you have to do is after youve applied your tape, rub along the edge with your...
Whats up with this paint. Thin coats with the airbrush drying with a heat gun between coats. The paint is pealing up with the tape after two coats. Peel when wet or score with the #11 blade ? Any help?

A tip when using water based paint----air flow helps more then heat to dry this paint. If its cold out you will have to add heat but remember the air flow!

Thank you for your reply! I plan on running the car so I will look into the powercoat and get that done!
I'm waiting for these two to arrive at my house from Bradley Farmer at Bradley's Fine Line Designs. He does all my race bodies and I wanted these two to look the same as my current race cars since I want to have these two as modern runners.

I bought a used 22 and couldn't read who did the body. This guy did mine as well, apparently. Very cool paint. (crappy cell pic)
I was told it was for a XXX but dont know any more than that. My daughter wants to drive the novice class next year and instead of getting another car it would be eaiser to just get a second body. The problem is standard losi XXX bodys dont fit the...

Any ideas? Im pretty sure its not a deja vu B3 body. The pictures I have seen of that one have more sharp corners. This one is all rounded. I will try to get some better pictures this weekend.
I've got a Parma Clodbuster shell to paint & thought it would be cool to paint it in a suitably 70/80s retro colour scheme.... but most R/C paints tend to be bright & rather lurid colours.
I then noticed in the Proline catalogue that there is a...

What I usually do with the old cans is shake them, tip them upside down and spray ALL of the propellant out.

I'm pretty anal about keeping my stuff looking new and decided to apply 3M Carbon Di-Noc to the bottom of my RC10 CE.

I can't find a thread about this although I thought I read it somewhere, but can you paint a body using Parma Faskolor paints and Pactra paint? If so is there a certain process to doing it?

fascolor is water based is why it breaks down in water. its also easly mixed with water or other additives to reduce the paint and make it easier to spray. you should allways back fascolor if possible. the pactra is more like your automotive paint...

I just got done watching The Last Unicorn(1982) with my 5 year old daughter. As always I was mostly thinking of vintage r/c the whole time. Being from 1982 it was true animation, not the computer based stuff you see today(although I do...

How do you do/get the thin black line outlines? By hand? Anyone know?
I use to tape 2 exacto blades together and cut the liquid mask. I modified my exacto to hold the 2 blades...but I noticed that sometimes, holding it by hand gave me more control.
I know not many people are great with painting bodies for their RC cars and it can be a chore to knock out a decent looking body sometimes, so that made me think what would people rather have when buying a new or used RC10.

This guy is less than Caswell Plating and he's a fellow Pennsylvanian too.
I know it's a bit tough to get in the nooks n crannies, but non-painted - am I missing something here?

Yeah, whether you paint it from the top or the bottom, you're going to see the paint-side on at least part of the wing. In the rare chance I do actually paint them, it's usually all white, or all black.
Hey all, still practicing for now. Hope you like, enjoy :D

Really cool 8) You have great imagination & eye for what looks good... I like the fact also that anyone armed with one of your sticker sheets could create a similar bold colour scheme without being an ace painter.
I figured we could all house them in one spot as we get them mounted and painted up, so Brandon can see the fruits of his labor. I just got mine done, and hoping to have the rest of the car together so we can get enough vintage cars to run the class...

Has anyone tried fitting the J Concepts Bandit Illusion body to an RC10? It's got the right look (I think) but it appears to get real thin on the side pods which may require chassis trimming.

does look like it could work, but there isnt any back to it at all, only picture i could find of it is here

Easy-Off oven cleaner with the yellow cap also works great to remove chrome & silver-metallized plating, and you'll have nice, white wheels ready for dye.
I posted this in the Yokomo forum as well but then realized that this is probably a better place.

Hey guys, can you please help me out? I would like some basic tips on how to paint a body. I am quite good with a rattle can but I've never used things like liquid mask or done multiple layers etc. Pics would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.

I would not use Alumilite. Yes it's expensive but the big problem is that once you start mixing both parts together, you've got about 3 minutes to get it all poured before it hardens. In large quantities it will also get air bubbles. If you want to...
