My xx build
Well my car has gotten to the point where I can post pictures. The story goe's, when I was younger I had a copy of RCCA and used to stare at the ad in there of this xx, I had to have one but never did. My buddy bought one brand new and I was just a tad jelous. So fast forward some 17 years and I recreated (as best I could) the car I always wanted.
I have been working on for just over a year and even with some subtle differences I am really happy with the outcome. I couldn't have done this without the help of several members on here ( you know who you are ) If I bought a losi parts from you on here its probley on this car. It will probley never be (complete) but only missing a few small items. (NIP wing buttons, battery straps and a few decals)
So here it is along with a picture of what I used to stare at many years ago.
Thanks everyone.

This is really cool and quite refreshing! What decals do you still need buddy? Are the ones I sent you on the wing? I may have some spare battery straps too.
Lets see some pics with the shell off!!!
Good work!

Re: My xx build
Very nice indeed - I like the box art paint job.... its actually tricky to achieve as the pictures on the box don't show all the different angles needed - so some guesswork is required...... I did a variation on the box art theme for my mate BITD
Seeing that picture of the shrink-wrapped box takes me back to the day that I picked up my XX back in 94..... how excited was I - I had just been sponsored by my local model shop & the car was the first top-line off kit that I have owned
+1 for a body off picture

That was also the same time I picked up 'Dealer Team' sponsorship with Helger Racing (now Horizon Hobby UK) and have raced for them ever since!!!DerbyDan wrote:Very nice indeed - I like the box art paint job.... its actually tricky to achieve as the pictures on the box don't show all the different angles needed - so some guesswork is required...... Fantastic job!
Some xx wing buttons would really finish it off nicely! I am suprised that they quite difficult to find.
I too would like to see underneath the lid!

Well done! I love the pink against the silver. You should be proud of this one.

Nice! Tell me the front wheels are from me?! Or were those white sets I sold you?
I have a pair of wing mounts for sure! Not new, but free!
I want to say I have a partial XX decal sheet somewhere at home, but I've no idea where it is at the moment so don't hold your breath on that. I remember it had True Pitch decals, maybe Hydra as well..

Re: My xx build
Thanks for the comments everyone. As the saying goe's you only get 1 chance to make a first impression, so I will hold out on the topless pics until I have battery straps and servo installled. Yes jammin those are the decals you sent and you can see how critical they were to finishing .
Bimba, you have a lot of losi parts for a kyosho guy . I cant remember exactaly where some parts came from or who, but I believe the wheels and chassis came from you like 2 years ago?!?. If you have those things you mentioned that would be great...... Holding breath......
I tried the body witht the big #1 on the side and where it looks good in the picture, it didnt look as good in person as the windows are quite big and they look tinted in picture. so I decided it looked good with window mesh and no number and flows better to me. There is a small hyrdadrive decal on the "hood" I havent seen those around, can anyone confirm they are on the original decal sheet?? I would need 2 of those
Now if I can figure out a way to make fire blow out its arse!!!!

Great job and great story! You need to get this thing up and running so you can at least drive the buggy that you have wanted for 17 years.
