I just discovered a JRX2 Sticker sheet design variation !
In fact 3 different design, with the disparation of the ""Ranch" and the "Naturals" at place.
The flash in the Prime Time in yellow or in white.
And few other details ;)

That's what I thought at 1st, so I went to my stash.
DSCF4217.JPG
I pulled it out of the new car, notice the one on right is chamfered in while one on left is an outy.
DSCF4219.JPG
The ones in the package match the one on left style. To further complicate, it looks like maybe three. One on left (outy), middle (slight chamfered) and one on right (deeper chamfer.)

I believe that black was the first color, since the JRX2 was out before the T with the stock white 1505 monster truck bellcranks.......and that oddball black pair in the lower rt corner I think was the first set from the orig JRX2 kit, I had em on mine. Probably first production run. Great stuff man....

This is the greatest geek Losi thread *ever*!

I can't wait to rummage through all the unsorted JRX2 and JRXT stuff I have boxed up in order to decide exactly *which* parts are going to go into the runner vs the shelfer.

Awesome.

Side by side images of some of the aftermarket parts from different manufacturers, such as front arms, 5-link parts, etc, would be a huge contribution, especially because I *know* that just about every Losi part ever made is in hands of at least one member in this board.

Maybe a topic for a different thread ... this thread is just about perfect as is.

Hmmmm...rear axles? Anyone else see these "oddities"? (these are all part of pairs, not singles :) )

I have had to deal with that before. one side of the car is sloppy and the other binding, on a new built car. Turns out the pin holes were not drilled the same distance out.
Losi seems to have a lot of minor variations in machining. The best example is the top of the shock bodies. Some have rounded edges, some squared off, some have shorter lugs, some are pretty long. I even got a front axle that had a non-perpendicular king pin bore. It came on a used car, but I couldn't get it to go back together because of the angle.

Eeek!

Those rear axles are embarrassing ... do you think that a Tamiya or Kyosho product from that era would have such part variation?

I will admit, however, that it the almost hand-crafted nature of those early Losi cars, where you can see the in-progress engineering and re-engineering of parts during the production run, that helps you see the people who manufactured the parts for your kit. In contrast to a factory vomiting out identical parts somewhere (usually into the hands of some child putting the car together in China as an RTR these days) ...

Of course, sometimes those Losi people had a bad day ... a pair of those axles with the pins any more outboard and you might be too wide for ROAR! Together it might add up to 1/4 of additional width, at least!

I think they are just poor Qa, they used the axles from the jrx2-xxx cr with no real changes. maybe changed suppliers?

I'm not really thinking it is at all an accident. Every one of those is part of a matched pair. Maybe different suppliers, maybe different production runs?

But I do need to pull my LXT and TCP (w/losi rear axles) apart to make sure they have matched pairs!

Of all the Losi cars I've built (quite a few) I've never experienced excessive slop or binding when using those types of axle. Are you sure they are not like that by design? I guess a hunt through some parts lists for different cars would tell...
