Tyres arrived and some turnbuckles for the rear. Wheels are standard B4 with 12mm hex on the rear. A 12mm hex adapter 7mm wide fits perfectly and allow wheels to clear the 5 link. Very simple.

That is an excellent looking Jrx2! I'm curious next to see how it looks with the body mounted and then of course to hear how it handles.

I need some help with springs. I want to get a new tuning set of springs from a current model that will fit these old Schumacher shocks. I need a spring with an inner diameter of about 15mm. Can anyone measure some and let me know if a particular model will fit the bill? Perhaps Team Durango or modern Schumacher? Thanks

Looking good Daniel!

Must say that those front tyres will give you way too much front end on virtually any track - they are 4wd front mini spikes, slim cut stagger ribs are what you need - especially on a mid motor car

Looking at those shocks more closely, I don't think they are Schumacher - they are either Traxxas or some sort of later Kyosho (post gold shock) ?

Looks somehow incredible: A mid motor Jrx2 or should I say Jmx2. This is the first mid motor Jrx2 buggy (not oval car) that I have seen. Really good work and I have to say that completed car looks way more better than I could have ever imagined!

My mistake on the front tyres. I have fitted a pair of cut staggered ribs. They are a little tight on the B4 rims. I have read that some people cut the rims narrower? Is that a good idea or will they be ok as they are?

Updates. I have added a second rear shock tower spacer. This has aligned the rear shocks better and provided a little more clearance between the spring and the camber link. I have installed two stock battery holders (thanks to Derby Dan) between the 5-link to hold a shorty lipo. A neat and simple solution. The JRX-Pro body set has arrived from America and looks really good. I have cut the back of the body to suit this setup and it works very well. I need to make a rear body mount which will utilise the provisions on top of the gearbox case for the JRXT body mounts. The car is really taking shape now.

Glad you got the parts OK :D Progress looks good, as you say the battery & body installation is very neat. Those cut-staggers are a tight fit over a 2.2" wheel dia-wise (partly why they don't need inserts) You need to run the tyres inside the next rib in from the inside edge of the rim - you can either cut off the remaining visible rim edge or just leave it (personally I like to cut the wheel down as it looks neater). They are a bugger to glue on though :?

Ok, got the wheels trimmed down. Made a wing wire and mounted the wing. Will paint the body this week. Then I need the ESC, motor, servo and radio gear.

That wing sits way too high. can't you trim the wire so that it would pass through the rear shocktower?
(you'd have to take offthe shocktower , pass the wire through and into the tubes and then mount the tower again. Bit of a hassle but it won't need removing later so it's a 1 time trouble)

Thanks for the feedback chaps. I think the angle of the wing may be a little steep but it can't possibly be too high. It is mounted in the same way and at the same height as any stock JRX2/Pro. If it were behind the shock tower then surely the air flow to it would be compromised?
