If the goal is to focus on aesthetics, the best thing to do is think about a consistent color scheme. Losi always had a penchant for mis-matching neon-colored parts, like the shock springs. Unfortunately, when you dial in your suspension the way you like, you usually end up with neon green this and neon pink that and neon yellow the other thing. Some people might like this, but to me it's a cacophony of color. :?

As others have suggested, buy a new body shell and think up a paint scheme with colors that tie in whatever other colors your car's parts end up being. For example, if your car has some nice blue alloy parts and green shock springs, try to come up with a paint job that includes those colors, and go with wheels that match, or are color-neutral (black, white, chrome).

I have a bit similar Losi XX http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=23418, my old race car and I didn't change nothing since last A-main where I did race my car, even the same battery is in there). I only turn tires to random position (to avoid tires to become "D"), "bump" shocks down and up a few times and turn slipper & Hyrda drive (to give O-rings some "fresch" oil ) and turn diff (to keep it smooth) a few times a year.

I agree, the TRX-3 in my avatar is just like it was the last time I raced it and displayed that way.

If you're going to do a new body, the Pactra Fluorescent Yellow (303408) is a great match to Losi's neon yellow plastic, such as the wheels.

I don't care what anyone else says, the XX still looks contemporary.
