The lower arms arrived yesterday Yay ! But... Once fitted it was clear that somwhere in all the CNC front suspension parts some errors had crept in as the dog bones were only just in the drive cups ,this is where I went wrong as I thought I'd give it a slow spin aground the garden ,the left front shaft popped half out and broke the very rare steering hub ,today has been spent terning and milling out a new steering hub and stretching the dog bones by 2.5mm , I used the RC10 dog bones I got to try so first I had to hone down the drive pins from 2.3mm to 2mm then cutting them in half and soldering a copper sleve onto the cut sections to extend them ,it took several attempts to get a good enough joint on the shafts but its strong now .
After all that I've now had a couple of good 20 min runs and you know what ? Not only was it very satisfying but you could really tell why this car won the 1985 world's ,very predictable to drive ,it may not be very sophisticated but its a pleasure to drive .
Pictures later when I can get on the PC.

I've been looking for a new steering knuckle for my Dogfighter ever since I built it but they don't come up for sale much so the first thing i wanted to make now i have a 3D printer was steering knuckles and here we have the final product fitted to the car YAY! :D 8) i can retire the ugly ally one i milled out.

I'll be posting this as a free download on Thingiverse as soon as i work out how !
Next I'm going to try doing a top deck/chain guide as that's the only other bit I need , unfortunately I'll have to model it by eye as i don't have one to measure unless someone has one they could part with temporarily in order for me to copy , even a broken one would be useful .

I've never had the top deck/chain guard so this is my version , bear in mind I've never held or measured a real one , this has been made from measuring my car and studying numerous pictures , there are areas that i know are not quite right in the shape of the chain guard but its quite close now .

Thanks , its not a perfect copy but I've never had the chance to take measurements from a real one , this was made using my car for some basic dimensions and numerous pictures found online for reference .
