My YZ10 97

Post by _timmy_ »

My attempt at a 97...not quite finished but couldn't resist posting anyway! Its taken 4 years to get to this after seeing a 2 page spread in the Oct 97 issue of radio race car (photo attached). Enjoy.....

Very nice Timmy. That came up real good. What have you got left to complete the car?

Any chance you can post a high resolution photo of the RRC magazine scan? I have been looking for that article for ages now.

From what I remember, 'Masimi' did use a 97 Spec to win the 1997 IFMAR Worlds Warm Up Race.

Good stuff. Look forward to seeing it complete and with some paint.

Vin

Thanks for the comments guys :D

@ Vin Only a few bits and pieces left to do. I've now got new diffs and out drives here, just need to build them and swap them for the originals. Then source a new set of front driveshafts to replace the worn originals on the car at the moment. Message me your email and I'll sort out hi-res's of the article and magazine cover. As for paint, I'm struggling right now to come up with something to suit the car and body!

@ Dennis Its an original Parma Yokomo C4 bodyshell I picked up a couple of years ago and has been waiting for the right car to come along

Quick update....chassis posts weren't in the best condition and I wasn't happy with them so a friend who's a machinist made me some replacements, while he was at it I also got him to machine some battery posts too! much happier with how she looks now...

Antenna Mount...Dammit, knew I'd forgotten something! Have to scrap it and start again now

Body's proving a toughy...I've decided I'm going to get it painted (which is the easy bit),, deciding how I want it painted is proving more difficult!!

Awesome car!
As a side note: I still haven't got that completely (i have been biten by the Yok virus not long ago, still learning  )
Is this actually a YZ10 ? I thought that there was never a official yokomo kit 97 version of YZ10.
One day, i hope my wife's not selling all my stuff for what i told her
