Thanks for all your positive comments!

I have an issue. I bought a Trackmaster tranny for it, but since I'm a bit retarded I cannot figure out exactly how to mount it without cutting the rear axle holder for the a-arms.
I'm currently at work, but I'll shot some pics and upload later tonight.

Thanks.

make to new plates for the trans (keeping the originals )maybe out of cf or alloy and cut the slot that you need to mount the rear mount i think a A/L trans would look alot nicer in there IMO

Fabricate a few hinge pin brackets, each with 2 diagonal screw-holes drilled in the bottom to bolt them onto the red plate from underneath. The front of each bracket has a hole partially drilled in the center that the hinge pin will fit into. Make the brackets at least twice as long (front to back) as the black horizontal piece shown in your last picture, to make room for at least 2 self-tapping mounting screws. Make them wide enough (outboard-to-inboard) to just reach the gearbox side-plates.

If you use a strong material (not plastic, but maybe fiber-reinforced nylon or carbon-fiber chunks), it shouldn't wear too much. Of course, aluminum would work better but you'll need to tap the mounting holes for machine screws instead of S-T screws.

The idea wouldn't be all that different from how the Optima's hinge pins are kept in place; the anterior end of those pins go inside the 2 frame rails, and the posterior end is "locked" into place with a thin piece of aluminum and set-screwed through the glass-filled nylon gearbox.

Thanks!
I'll give it a go in both delrin and aluminum. I'll keep you posted, whenever I can find the time to fabricate them.

Hello Walfre, I know this is an old post but I feel responsible being that you purchased parts from me to progress this build. Hope all is well and would like an update if possible...
AKA ( settin03 R/C hobbies and more ) on Ebay

Since being on this site I have found that I have too many parts and R/C Models. Please help me get rid of them. ;-)
