I have to admit I havnt done a whole lot to this car other than tear it down, clean it up, and so far the only upgrade I have done is ball bearing everywhere I could put them. Ive had a blast! Ive had more fun with this one than my RC10 build Im also working on. Searching for parts, learning about Kyosho. Probably cause Ive worked on so many RC10's I can put one together in my sleep. This has been a whole new learning experience. Also makes me want to start looking for an Optima Mid to work on next!

Great to see those Platinum units worked out for you. I had a bid on that Mk1 car on eBay but missed out. Shame

HAHA Dennis, I know these wheels and tires dont fit the nostalgia of the car, but no worries Im still planning on having a set of new stock wheels and tires. Im watching some sets of original Option House chrome wheels on ebay now. As far as paint I totaly plan on box art. After all it was the wheels and white lettered tires and body that drew me to the car back then in the first place. So its going to look the part when Im done.

Thank guys. Also keep in eye on those Platinum shocks they tend to leak from worned out o-rings on the shock shaft which I believe you can still buy those on ebay.
