Definitely different, The front alumium pieces look similar to a vintage MRP front suspension for a tamiya SRB. It would cool to pick up a piece of fiberglass or carbon with a kick up similar to the rc10 and cut a chassis from it.

look at my ghostrider: it uses an rc 10 graphite chassis with kick-up. The kyosho parts that hold the front swaybar bolted right onto it without any extra holes drilled = bye-bye lower frame

Thanks for the comments and input - the picture, Lars posted, shows the solution to my steering servo headache. I´ll have to angle it to make room for the servo saver to be pointing downwards - minimizing the bumpsteer.

The major plan is to mount a crossbar between the front shock mounts and attach the topdeck to it, for stability. The black top crossbar will then be obsolete.

I would like to get a Tomahawk body for it.

This is as far as I have come

I have an old SRB lexan body I´ve cut to fit. Just need to strip the old paint and give it a new colour.

Hello, I am new to this group, recently joined

nice scorpion, I especially dig the shocks, can you tell me anything about them, what brand, are they kyosho, CRP hop-ups

Why I am interested is cause scored similar shock set off ebay. I will be building a kyosho beetle soon, my parts lot are on its way from Germany, but sure taking its time :(

Hi,
Thanks for the kind words and welcome.
The shocks are Ishipla Monster or if from Germany, Graupner Monster.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of Your build :D

Dennis, what front tires did you use here? I like those, I would buy a couple sets for my OptiMutt project. Also, what diameter wheels do they fit? Thank you.

Oh thanks Dennis, I was just curious about the shocks, cause even the seller did not know, but helped me as much as he could on identifying them. Wow, indeed I am new to the kyosho vintage rc lineup, I just recently got to know about AYKs and man these things are beautifully constructed. Love the kyosho vintage lineup.

still waiting on the parts man, one more question about the shocks, since its still on its way, are the bottom spring retainers chromed plastic or aluminum??? Would be sweet if they are aluminum.

Will you be updating your thread? Like to see how your buggy looks :)
