Help ID an older inferno

Post by Davedog81 »

Hello all,

Kyosho newb here. Bought what looks like an older inferno at a flea market. Got it running well but after a few hours blew the rear bevel gear for the diff. It's a 15 tooth gear, but cannot find a replacement. If someone can help me I'd this car and where I could get parts, it'd be appreciated. Here are some pics of the buggy.

Layout looks like the first gen Inferno, however the diff housings almost look more like Burns?

Either way, the "good" ones are a BSW-1 and BSW-2 ring and pinion

The ring is on eBay, I'm not seeing the pinions

BS-121 is a functional replacement set from the DX but it's very weak

Edit- and the BS-14 set

BS-14 is another option as well. Though almost always a pricey item. :(

I handnt even considered Sabulatech for this, good call Aaron. Good price too, those were always pricey gears and that's right inline with what I'd expect to pay

That looks like a turbo burns to me with an inferno radio plate. If you look at the center brake, it looks more like a burns.

Here's my Burns, but it has Inferno gearboxes. But you can see the center diff differences.

I just noticed too, your burns has the rare front brake kit. Normal burns has a single center brake.

Thanks guys, you're awesome. I might order two sets just to do the front too. I put a new .21 OS cz in it. Wonder if it's too much for those gears to handle?

The 0.21 is not a problem - Incorrect lack of "shimming" (use of shims) of the pinion is where the cat is burried.

In general it´s a strong buggy (fantastic in my book)
