Kyosho Scorpion (RE-RE)

Post by THE H.P FREAK »

HI!... Well this will be my build up of a Kyosho Scorpion (re-re).

Well I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to start building the Scorpion.

I went to start to build the roll cage for the body when I realized something was not right. The dummies at the factory gave me 2 left sides to the roll cage!!! The right side is missing. So I ordered another one. Should be here next weekend.

HI!... Well I got most of the Scorpion together now. Still need to find a vintage KYOSHO motor and buy some PS-6 yellow paint for the body. I installed all vintage Novak electronics in it. This will only be a shelf queen.

HI!... Well the new replacement roll cage showed up on Saturday.

I might end up running this vintage KYOSHO Le Mans 480 Gold motor in it.

Looks like you bent the front shock towers slightly to clear the body? Im wondering how everybody is handling this situation. I may use spacers,, as Im using carbon fiber for the shock towers,, so no bending.

I thought it strange that you somehow got two left side roll bar parts when they appear to be molded & attached to a single sprue. :? Somehow that kit box must've been opened previously, maybe?

HI!... The original rollgage parts came in a sealed bag in my kit. Not on a sprue. The replacement parts came on a sprue.

Strange. The original parts even have the flashing where they appear to have been removed from a sprue, along with that center section. Was Kyosho getting a bit lazy?

HI!... Well I got 90% of the Scorpion done. I decided to paint the body white instead of yellow. IMO there was just two much yellow in the box art. Still got to clean up the motor and put on new wires. Driver and cockpit need to be touched up.
