Optima JG Truck Conversion
Like I mentioned before , if you've been collecting long enough that once and a while a gem pops up . This one fell into my lap thanks to Slapshot79 . A good friend and collector for many years . I have a thing for truly vintage buggies . Like we built them back in the day . No modern parts , just all 80s .
I have no clue on how he got it , nor did I ask . I actually was digging the body and the chassis looked good from the first pictures . It arrived yesterday and this thing has barely a pack through it . Somebody had some painting skills and a little cash . I'm sure the Platinums set him back a few hundred .
Anyways , tons of pictures .........enjoy .

Looks great, but that Tamiya speed control has to go
I too am a fan of "heavy metal". I miss that class

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

If I can't find my Kyosho unit , I will most likely drop in an early Novak . Looks better in person Perry .

If you have a picture of the correct MSC, I have a few Kyosho MSCs laying about and can check. If I have the right one, it's yours for shipping only.RC10Eh wrote:If I can't find my Kyosho unit , I will most likely drop in an early Novak . Looks better in person Perry .

That's a kind offer , thank you . I'm leaning towards an early Novak . I don't think the original owner spared any cash on this thing so a Novak seams appropriate . The orihganal MCS is a mass of wires and looks horrible .

Re: Optima JG Truck Conversion
That is a great looking Optima truck. I actually had one on my Optima too. I took it apart as I remember run times being short due to the larger wheels and 4wd. Ah...the old days with 1200mah battery packs.
