How do they work, compared to Golds? I'd like me a set, if they're half-decent.

They are pretty good quality copies of the gold shocks. But good-luck finding them: they are long out of production.
The rears are exchangeable with long golds, the fronts with medium sized golds.
MRC was the US distributor.

I can't even find a part number for complete shocks but I found the partnumbers for the shockbodies and caps: GRT015 for the front (available from rcclearance4u.co.uk by the way), and GRT016 for the rear

You could try finding Kyosho's multi-link suspension kit for the GP-10, which adds multiple rear toe-in options. You can build your own using a set of Lazer front arms, c-hubs, and front uprights, but you'll have to find a solution for the shock tower and toe-in adjustment plate...

Haven't heard of that setup before but I kinda like it...using the steering knuckles to adjust toe in.

The only problem I've found with it is that you can't mount certain types of rear wheels, as the inner webbing will hit the uprights...

Not sure about Triumph lengths but Ultima pro XL would work just fine and are adjusted in the same way.

As for the second thing, Kyosho made it tuneable. There's a second plate that mounts on the rear of the gearbox, to which the toe-in links are mounted. So it can be set up for no toe-in change when the suspension is compressed...

MRC was the Academy distributor in the US, but never brought in the Griffin buggies. The ones I had (and regrettably sold) were bought from an online shop in Korea and shipped. Once I took it to the track, amazingly, a local racer had one laying in his garage that he gave me.

I quickly pulled the purple shocks off for a set of Losi shocks...its was a parts/springs/pistons/knowledge reason.

Back to Ed's car....would have loved to seen body off shots!

I've had this one almost ready for awhile, but only put the electronics in last saturday evening as the radical ultima was not doing well on the slippery hard clay track.
Turned out to be the right decission as the car felt sooo much better on this particular track on Sunday.

The front remained basically the same but the rear end received a cleaned up stealth with b4 topshaft and home made GF moterplate to replace the bent original.
Rear bulkhead moved behind the gearbox, some extra braces, new wing mount, new rear shock tower, brace for the rear bulkhead and gear case, and some more timming on the body to fit the upside down B4 spurcover.

And voila:
