Sideways, the ugliest Sprint car I've ever laid eyes on.
Ok, so finally picked this up about a couple weeks ago. Haven't done anything with it yet. There were a couple screws and one nut missing. Luckily I had some laying around which is surprising considering I'm a Losi/AE guy. No plans yet but might replace the body on this thing. Not feeling the Rebel theme. But can't complain for 20 bucks.
I have found the body available but can't find the wing. So unless it's unavailable I may just make the new side panels and reuse the deck. Any thoughts, suggestions or advice what to do with this will be accepted as I'm not a Kyosho guy.

I like it and for the money great score! So is that body a hard body or lexan? It really hard to tell in the pictures and the screw mount in the front looks like it would be a hard plastic body. If it was a hard body you could just strip the decals and repaint it. It does look like a good candidate for a refurb.

Back in the day, i couldn't sell any of these (at the hobby shop). I decided to build one and I mounted a clear parma 57 chevy body on it and left it out as a display. We started selling a bunch of them. The people that bought them were just tossing out the roll cage and bodies.hugger19 wrote:i have always wanted/loved those wide rear wheels/tires. would look sweet on a hotrod project!!!

Locally we did the opposite....sold a bunch of the cages and wheels/tires, and put them on rc10/t hybrids. Long arms on the right side, buggy arms on the left. Didn't sell many kits at all
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Yeah Todd I haven't opened a photo bucket. I use the FB page as my photo collection. I can't see anyone's pics most of the time from my work pc.
So I'm thinking I'm missing a nose piece. Also just re looking at my pics....I think I have some shocks similar to these with weird little collars that are missing off this car. Part of me wants to do some period correct mods to it. From what little I've read up here...I'm thinking gold shocks and transmission attention might need to be a future thought. For now I have other projects ahead of this turd.

Weird, on my old decrepit laptop Facebook-hosted images usually don't show up (just like Twits ), yet in this case they do.Johnboy72 wrote:Yeah Todd I haven't opened a photo bucket. I use the FB page as my photo collection. I can't see anyone's pics most of the time from my work pc.
You are missing the small Ultima bumper (unless this car uses a specific piece). For the shocks I can't see on the pictures how the springs are held into place at the top. These shocks use either removable clips or a weird toothed ring that can be placed at different positions to change spring tension, depending on the exact model of the shocks. So I'm thinking I'm missing a nose piece. Also, an Ultima is not any less of a turd than a RC10. Just ask Scr8p

I would like to see oval racing take another surge. Thats the most fun I ever had in rc I think,, savagely ripping around a concrete oval. Very cool old car! To my eyes, its not ugly at all,, even the silly rebel theme.
Re: Sideways, the ugliest Sprint car I've ever laid eyes on.
the shocks just have four little pegs sticking out of body that the springs perch on.

That's right: the street styled kelron chassis models had the same shocks; no collar at all, no adjusting either.
