I recently aquired a really rough original frog, I immediately began rebuilding it, opened up the tranny, and found a ball diff/slipper clutch in it. i knew these were not stock back in the 80's that i remember. Is this a Thorp? or is this a Tamiya...

I have the dogbone thorp rearend and its missing the nut that holds the diff screw.What size is it ?and the size the nut?
It hast to sit inside the collar that sits on the outdrive then slides into diff hub.Out of all the nuts i have nothn fits into...

Enuff parts to convert to dogbones if wanted to on ebay right now.The hex axles wore out fast so everyone was converting to bones tears ago.Or just tossed the truck aside,now see them popping up for crazy prices.One was decent but $500.00 used?...

I have just rebuilt my ball diff that came in my Ultima.

To my surprise this ball diff is so crude in its design. Has no polished drive rings and no thrust bearings just rides on washes.

Is this right or have i got a dud diff.

Just rebuilt the ball diff with WBD-4 pressure plates and it seems these make the diff too wide for the gear box. Any advice on how to make this work? Doesnt look like there is much I can outside of machining the stock pressure plates down a bit to...

WBD-5 is the new part it has the spring and T-nut and using WBD-4 plates and it does fit the ultima balldiff.

So I've got an RC10GT with a stock ball diff. For some reason I've had bad luck with this diff over the years. It seems to slip under brushless power, and when I tighten it down to the point of not slipping, it gets crunchy fast and breaks the diff...
