Lazer ZX body choices?

Post by K4mike »

Hi guys. I tried doing a search on here but could not find an answer already. Does anyone know of any newer style bodies that will work on a basically stock ZX? I know that TBG sells the original, but I have never been a huge fan of the original body.
Thanks for any info in advance,
Mike

Kamtec do a tomcat shell which was a Parma shell made for this and also used on the tamiya protos, links in my name tag below, still using the original first one (picture shows my dragon paint job on web site) since he made the mold four or five years back. Think it comes with undertray (worth asking as i know he has one to do a mold) and is thicker than most shells so last longer.

Or the zxs shell which i know comes with an undertray. Its a tighter fit and youll need associated servo mounts with the extra spacer to move your servo in more on your chassis to get a perfect fit.

LWB Mid will fit. I know It is older but it is much better looking than ZX body.

It should fit too but if I remember correctly You have cut and install both undertray and body really carefully and find correct position to them. Maybe someone who have done it can tell more details about this especially when repro bodies and undertrays are smaller than originals are. Some references about Lazers with LWB bodies are here in scan section from races between about 1990-1992 as all US Lazer drivers used LWB bodies on their Lazers.

ZXS shell is basically that with air vents. Ive used on my race car which is a redesigned ZX. Link below to pics of it on my car, shell is still here somewhere but ive redesigned the car much more since this write up.
