Tried a search but no luck. Looking for the actual paint colours (or very close alternatives) to paint up an Optima and Turbo Optima, both in box art. I guess what blue and yellow for the Optima (white is easy 8) ) and the red/orange for the Turbo....

Ahh, I remember the POLYCA colors. You can see some of them here. The black, white, red where probably the box art colors.

Hi guys

Well, it took me ages! Certainly not perfect, but the best I can do with brushes. I found it really hard cutting the body/holes to mount it, as I didn't want to cock it up! Not the easiest of box art designs to do, as I'm sure anyone else...

Very good job on that. :) Although I'm not into the box-art replicas, even designing your own paint job for the Optima body is a challenge. It's not easy to trim and has so many intriguing scoops & body lines everywhere, but that's what makes it...

I am interested in reproducing an exact box art replica of the original Kyosho Optima. However the #5 is different along with a few other decals missing from the production sheet.

Has anyone tried printing out the box art design?

Cool! Hopefully he can come through with the file. If it's vector based, you can use it to cut paint masks. That would rock!

The Kyosho Optima was my first 1/10th scale racer back in the 80's. For me this car ticked all the boxes back then and still does for me today. I have owned this new built Optima for many years now and is one of my most prized models.

Hey all, I just started the resto process on a nicely used Optima scored from the bay. I plan to get the box art paint and sticker scheme down. This build will acomplish 2 things, supply me with a buggy to model bodies, and get me a bada$$ shelf...

This thread is about two Optima Mid models in the SWB segment. One Turbo Optima Mid and one Turbo Optima Mid SE being built side by side (those two yellow cars in the picture above).

Parts are taken from several mid cars I have in various shape....
