Vintage Ultima speed control question
I'm in the process of putting an old Ultima back together. I do not have much experience with this brand. I wanted to double check the battery connection. Both the resistor speed control and the battery have the same polarity Tamiya connector. I'm assuming the battery should be female. Can someone confirm?

Re: Vintage Ultima speed control question
Both are correct. Kyosho was opposite of the industry standard.

Re: Vintage Ultima speed control question
No problem. Personally I'd keep the Kyosho stock and change the battery

Finally a good use for all those Tamiya connectors I replace on ESCs.

Re: Vintage Ultima speed control question
Looking for wiring diagram for the 3 resistor wires (Red, Orange,Yellow) that go to the mechanical speed control on an original Ultima. I'm not seeing where they get soldered, I'm assuming of the 5 solder points, you use the inner 3. Secondly I need to know which color goes to which point.

Re: Vintage Ultima speed control question
Here's a couple pics from the tomahawk manual. I think it will help clear it up a little, even tho the hole count is slightly different.

Re: Vintage Ultima speed control question
Actually if the outer wires were all that were flipped it wouldn't make a difference, as long as the center was correct. I found mine stashed away...here ya go
