Vintage Ferrari F40

Post by wapchimp »

Hi all, my collegaue has brought in his old Kyosho F40 OT-122 chassis, I can't find out anything about it on the internet. Does anyone know if it is worth anything. It is almost complete (gearbox cover is missing) and it even has a brand new sealed spare shell. Cheers, Paul

That one's usually either based on the Optima Mid (4WD buggy chassis) or Ultima (2WD), but some other chassis are also possible. A picture would help.

As for value, we have this little tool for that (try Ebay).

OK thank you. I didn't know that you weren't allowed to ask if something was rare or what it may be worth.

Optima Mid-based. The bumper is cut down, the front body mounts aren't stock, and the gear cover is missing. Looks pretty much complete otherwise except for the MSC. The painted shell is missing the additional plastic parts for the details such as rear view mirrors etc.

Thanks for your help. I think the MSC is there. It's a disc tot he left-rear of the car. We are going to hook up a battery to see if it works

I had one of these in the early 90's but with the Porsche 911 Slantnose body. It was durable and a lot of fun. I remember digging it out in about 10 years later but I had lost the body by then and the width of the chassis made it hard to use modern bodies on it. The hardest thing to find for these were the rims and bodies si I'd say you have good one there.
