I think I have everything to complete the kit. Just have to start building it.

Started to build the trans. I used bearings instead of bushings. This is my first traxxas build . Very basic and so far so good.

Few more pics. I haven't strip out any holes yet but the nylon parts seem a little softer than what comes in the rc10 kits.

The chassis is almost done. I like the fact that it came with a pre-trimmed body and wing.

they are terrible lol. i have at least 10 of them in a box from different cars. the weak spot seems to be the threading on the shock body itself, all of mine seem to have broken off right at the shock cap usually retaining some of the white shock material still stuck in the threads of the cap

cool car though and nice build

That could point to a problem in the design of the car rather than the shock: the same happened to my kyosho goldshocks more or less in one of my home builts.
The reason it happened on that car was the shock was the deadstop for the suspension travel. After some big jumps the pressure pulled the top off. In my case the pressure didn't go straight up but sideways at the deadstop point.

Thanks for the info on the shocks. Other than the slash that I sold a few months ago . I don't know a whole alot about the vintage traxxas buggies. Bad shocks or not I like building vintage kits.

Any shock will do for shelf jumping, some you just better don't put oil in: saves you on whining from the missus ;)

fresh paint. I just have to mount the steering linkage and servo , solder on the motor leads and call it done.

I like it, but why not paint the wing also?
