The only thing I wasnt a fan of was the big bore shocks on the TRX3 but that was a small gripe as they performed exactly the same and were dead smooth..

Dude, you say a lot of illogical stuff......so what didn't you like about the big bore shocks?...

I got my Traxxas Nitro sport 2wd running finally after getting the rear sorted out and a new carb.. So, it runs well but the brakes are a mystery. I know how they work but the main bent wire setup that presses the plates together keeps dropping so...

That confirms how I put mine back together then. A very clear picture of that braking system. I had to modify mine a bit because of wear but it does work now. Thank you!
