I haven't used either of those brands, but I do have full JPS axle/gearbox sets on my Powers now. I have yet to have any problems with those. I'd recommend getting the separate link mounts they offer too, as the holes on the outer axle are kind of at a weird angle and will start to wear a bit after lots of use. I'd just keep my eyes on ebay for a set of the axles as it might take a while to get them from JPS. I think my order arrived about 8 months after I placed it and after 6 or 10 phone calls asking where it was. They're a pain to deal with, but they make nice stuff.

Guys I am going to experiment with making some new rear axle tubes removing the steering all together from the rear axle. I sold the clod I built a few years back and finally picked up another one so I can start back up with making parts again.

I have no suggestion on the front axle other than using some of the aluminum axle tubes on the plastic gear case. It would be nice to see the full clod race video.

thats what im thinking jake.
i don't want the fully alloy gearcases. just tubes.
i'll be all ears if you make some parts.

the truck was awful on the track, one because of tires (you could hear them spinning) and two...it doesn't turn well at all.
but it's big and mean and i willed it around the track.

I want to try to address the steering limitation on the front axle as well. Many of the 4 links trucks have problems with the tires hitting the lower links and also the issue of the steering stops. You can cut your stops but you still have the rubbing problem. I am going to tackle this and see if I can come up with a solution by making new aluminum or delrin outers for the front axle while moving the link mounting location further inboard. not sure how the suspension will change but it is always worth a shot to see.

i think delrin would be the go to material for these trucks.
the vibrations are only amplified by the alloy parts.
my truck needs a complete go through after each round. strange things loosen up.

i'm also not happy with the cpe wheel widener kit, the type that you have to drill 5 lug holes in the wheels.
they are never really "true". (most likely the cause of things loosening up. lol)

Some delrin wheels with a different offset would be the ticket and they can be machined to spin super true. I had the idea to machine the wheels with a different offset two years ago bit never did it. I need to get back on that. You could still achieve the width you need without using to dumb spacers...just bolt the wheel on and go.
