Early Christmas

Post by bearrickster »

well you have to love buying your own Christmas presents. I wanted this kit so bad I made sure I was getting it for Christmas. :D now its going to kill me to wait to open it until then. I know its a cheap kit but I love the scale looks of it. and I have always had a place in my heart for Dune Buggys. Tamiya is packing these new kits in very small boxes I was expecting a box the size of the Buggy Champ but this isnt half that size.

That'll look great with a set of Buggy Champ or Sand Scorcher-type wheels!

Those stockers kinda look like they're off a tractor...

If I'm not mistaken, the chassis on the re-re may actually be better than the original.

Wasn't the original rear end a cheaper knock off of the SRB's swing axle set up?

Any modification plans in the future for it?
Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

Nice Rick! Are you going to wrap it up and surprise yourself on Christmas Eve?

My buddy had one of those Manx dune buggies as his first car in high school. Drove it in all types of weather. I've always though they were kind of cool but not cool enough to buy one. Making this one a scaler sounds like a great project - I love the looks of all of Diggly's bugs.

Rick, those wheels are going to look absolutely killer on this car. I am glad you got the GH from me. I knew trading with you was the right thing to do. I will be looking for the build on this one.

I can't remember if it was stormerhobbies or amainhobbies. I think it was Amain, but they had under the 1/10th buggy off road tires by schumacher some front and narrow front tires that looked like an old bias ply tire you would find on an old dune buggy. I'll try to post the link later but they would look great on that buggy

I found the link. It was Amain. They are very similar to an old front sand tire.

Or there's kyosho raider front tires although they are more of a baja type looking tire.
