You guys would call my clod a mess. I use the cantilever suspension simply because I think its neat. I put some anti-sway bars on it which drastically helped the straight line handling. I also still run 4WS and I have dual brushless 4200 KV systems in it. I run two 2S packs slung down in the very bottom of the chassis, so my CG is as low as it can go. I've got stock clod wheels and my original '88 tires. I have "raced" it a handful of times, some this season in fact. I'm still undefeated. There was only one other truck though, a TXT, that could not keep driveshafts in one piece. Its a fun monster. ALWAYS a work in progress. There's a photo of it somewhere in my gallery.
I have been looking for one of these for a while with no luck. On my original lunchbox way back in the day I destroyed the hard body. The replacement body kit was rather expensive(for a 13~ish y.o.) so I got one of the lexan Aerostar bodies and...
here is an old pic of my first clod, I bought it used or traded as we kids did back in the day, picture was taken at a saw mill where I grew up, my buddies dad owned it and let us play in the sawdust mounds exhausted out the back of the mill.

Thanks, yeah I've sold way too many of my clods. I only have one of the dozen I built over the years.... maybe I'll build another. Always been a fan of cantilever suspension, so if I see one I may have to grab it....
Well, the Clodbuster volcano in my head has finally exploded and I've decided it's finally time to try and get one. It will be a runner, I want something slower that I can run around my driveway without tearing up the driveway and have fun....

Do not use acetone on anything Tamiya. They are about 90% abs parts and will melt. I think maybe the only parts not abs are rod links for most models. The red or blue parts I think are also a nylon. Possibly a blend so don't chance it.

You can find reproduction grilles and tailgates on eBay for $22 each. Unfortunately they're not chrome. However somebody did a nice job with their 3D printer. While I know they're not THE sought after pieces, I think they look better than that 4x4x4...
The body is a Camino 2000, the chassis had to be replaced due to breakage, as was the steering set up.
At first I ran LeMans 600E motors, but when I decided to race it, I went with LeMans 480 Gold
I wanted to use an 8.4 battery so I...

The MSCs are mounted on some scrap plastic I found in a storage area at work. They looked like separators for a storage setup of some kind, but no one knew what they were for. I think I still have a few somewhere. I'd love to find another clod to do...
I started on this Clodbuster a few weeks back and have been updating a current build thread over at Clodtalk.
Basically I started with a busted truck from eBay and scratch built the chassis, links, shock mounts, upper link mounts, (lowers were...

Got the truck running, took it for a test drive and broke a couple things. Nothing big. The truck with 5.5s is super quick, pulling wheelies. This will be a fun truck to drive around the house.
Everything is being ano'd hard black right now so when...
