Porsche 959
As I recall it, this thing was lightning fast and would never tilt as long as You keept the MSC in step three
I have fond memories of running the 959 - The street I grew up in (dead end village road) had tarmac, concrete sidewalks and ended up in a gravel road. Picking up speed at the tarmac, then hitting the sandy concrete sidewalk giving full throttle and full steering, making it go sideways.. Then deceleration to zero with a little help from the fence.
This example is a runner with a new painted TBG body.

this was my dream car up until i got into racing.
i hope they re-release it. it's the one expensive re-release i'd splurge on.

Re: Porsche 959
This is one car I definitely would snatch up if they did a re-re. It's an amazing piece of rc tech from back when Tamiya used to try all kinds of neat things.
Not that they don't do that still, but the 959 was so completely different than the rest of their cars. Much like the Ferrari 4wd F1 car or even the Fox with it's one-off design.

I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

Re: Porsche 959
My first car was a 959... loved it, and it taught me so much about building and rebuilding cars (out of necessity!). It's probably the main reason why silver cans have no interest to me, as I started with a Technigold!
Like everyone here, I would love a re-re - I get the feeling that Tamiya would base any decision about a re-re on the performance of the Fox re-re, seeing as they both share very little parts with any other model (yeah, okay, the 959 and the Celica Gr.B).
Thanks for taking me back to my youth, Dennis!

HI!... Thanks. What colour is that on your 959? It looks almost butterscotch in colour.

I´m not sure I know what butterscotch isTHE H.P FREAK wrote:HI!... Thanks. What colour is that on your 959? It looks almost butterscotch in colour.
The color is Tamiya mustard yellow - To me it looks Camel yellow, but their Camel yellow is almost orange.

Yes, that is a very nice display!

Love that paint scheme. This may wet your appetite for getting that out and firing it up.
